Nah, I like how it is now without teams and nationalism. It would seem like the olympics. Anyway, anyone know if there is a super six eliminator in store for the weltweights next year?

I been saying this since the Mexico vs. Phillippines world cup a few years back.

Nationality pride sells, boxing is becoming a more worldwide parity sport.

These nation vs nation match ups dont even need to have their top fighters in it, just find a bunch of decent C level fighters from both nations and have them go up against each other with a team scoring system.

If the U.S vs U.K contender matchup can have success, then surely these other boxing world cups can too.

 

round robin is alot better than eliminator. More fights and it allows the fighters to have an off night and come back from it.

 

Good Idea but personally I couldn't care less where these fighters are from I just want to see the best fighters fight the best fighters. Sometimes when you start pitching Mexican against Puerto Rico and stuff like that, I am not Mexican or Puerto Rican so for me I couldn't care less about their rivalry and I would probably be a distant spectator and that kind of alienates other fighters who might be good but who's country dont have enough good fighters to make up the numbers so my point is if it aint broke dont fix it.

The tournament hasn't even started yet and people already trying to change the format. Give the thing a chance 1st.

Regardless of where these fighters are from they can just be included in a tournament but it doesn't have to be based on trying to divide people up as it can alienate some other countries and fighters who may only have 1 good fighter so bang them in a tournament but take away all this rivalry **** and let the best fight whoever the best is regardless of where their from.

 

Europe vs Canada? The WHOLE of Europe vs Canada? FAIL.

 

Maybe we could have a heavyweight tournament by country.

The USA will be represented by Eddie Chambers and the holograms of Tyson, Holyfield, Frazier, and Foreman that they used for Vitali's entrance against Peter.

 

If you want that watch amateur boxing, we just want the best pros versus the best pros, thats what boxing needs not more country rivalries. Simply country versus country give us the best versus the best and would give plenty of sub standard competitors. Plus no pro cares if he won an international between 2 countries, would never happen and thats a good thing.
