Difference b/w Cotto fans, Pac fans, & Floyd fans

What has Manny accomplished lately that is even remotely comparable to Cotto beating Kessler and Dawson? :huh

 

Pac was a former flyweight champ who beat the lineal JWW champ. His fans remember the trip to get there...how it was a JOKE to even consider the matchup years ago....just as its a joke to consider Cotto-Kessler/Dawson now, a former JWW champ beating a SMW/LHW champ.

When/if Cotto ever one day fights Kessler, you will remember his trip of getting there...

BTW, Hatton has beaten greater fighters than either guys and has achieved more than both put together.

 

In short what Im trying to say is:

Years ago, the idea of Pac beating Hoya/Hatton/Cotto was DILLUSIONAL. Pac has proven it wasnt so dillusional.

Today the idea of Cotto beating Kessler is dillusional. Cotto is YET to prove that isnt so dillusional.

Get it?

Pac fans may appear dillusional for a reason.

 

It's always entertaining to see so called "objective fans" reply posts in a very ignorant manner generalizing all Cotto fans as if they all believed he's still undefeated and ignoring the fair points of the thread starter while they give props to much worst posts that fit their agenda

In any other era spanning 10years, the top 5 of that decade at the least would be classed as ATG's, Floyd who is arguably the greatest of this era isn't? We must have a hell of a weak era. lol.

 

only point i have a big problem with. i think they both have. not saying they will, but.

 

oscar was going down from 151 to 147 while pac was going up from 135 to 147. oscar was still giving away something for that fight and that is going down 4 pounds. team pac is asking cotto for some concession, just like what oscar did, by asking him to move down 2 pounds (1 pound from his last fight) as compare to pac moving up from 140 to 145. fanboys would not notice this of course.

 

Not at all. Kessler and Dawson are in the primes of their career, while De La Hoya and Hatton were on their last legs. Big difference.

 

wtf? hatton and pac was barely the same age. pac even has more ring age, wars and the much better competition and hatton was on his last legs?

 

A fighter's age has nothing what so ever to do with their primes. Fernando Vargas was a shot fighter long before he even turned 30. While Glen Johnson and Nate Campbell didn't hit their peaks until their late 30s.

Just as the amount of wars a fighter has been in doesn't indicate how much he has left. Some fighters are simply capable of taking more punishment than others, and vice versa.

Oscar is retired, Hatton is pondering it. If that isn't any indication that they were on their last legs, then I don't know it is.

 

hatton just came from a very good win over malignaggi and was upbeat that he would beat pac in the same fashion. yes there were talks of him retiring soon but so was pac. does it necessarily mean that only hatton was on his last legs and not pac? you presented it as if hatton has nothing more to offer by the time pac fought him.

 

Nothing more in relation to how much a Kessler or Dawson currently has to offer? Absolutely.

 

So basically, Pac wants to fight on his terms at his weights. Oscar was 154, not 150, and Pac brought him down to 147. Cotto is 147, not 143,
or 145. Either way, the question stands; why Oscar at 147, but not Cotto. I am glad the fight is happening, and Cotto made sure of it.
