MMA is HORRIBLE. Its rubbish. Its like Drag racing to formuler one. Its like ping pong to tennis. Its like jonathan and edward to Robson & Jerome. MMA stands for Mixed Matial arse.
I like the elite of MMA. Guys like Fedor and some of hte fighters in UFC but having seen abit of the domestic stuff I gotta say that stuff is **** and very gay. British MMA seems to attract alot of nuters and has a big problem with violence outside the ring rather than in it.
too right m8 fedor gsp silva and penn are wonderfull to watch domisticaly its not to good alot of the time your just gettin 2 guys who think the can fight after doin a year of training, elite fighters like them 4 are like the tyson's, mayweather's, jones' and whitakers of mma the sort of talent that only comes around every so often!
Very ignorant comments from hopkins and posters who know nothing about MMA. Im a fan of both sports and recently im finding MMA to be more entertaining as they put on the better fight cards consistently. The skill level of Lyoto Machida and Anderson Silva is something to see..but if u have no interest then dont watch it....Or slag it off.
I really don't understand why people are so desperate to take pops at MMA. I don't like it, watched one match in my entire life and I realised its not for me, but it ends there...I don't even think about MMA. What is clear is that its successful and there are lessons to be learnt from it.
Agreed. I was chatting to a mate of mine who is both an MMA and boxing fan (he's more MMA but knows more about the sweet science than your casual joe public) and his view is quite simple. UFC is popular because it regularly pits the top fighters against each other. This can be done because all the top fighters are under the UFC umbrella. There are no other organisations that carry as much kudos or $$ as the UFC and as such all fighters want to be part of it. Whereas in our thing, you've got WBA, WBC, IBF, WBO, WBU, IBO, WBF, WD40 etc etc and they wont let their champs fight each other. There's no quick fix, but things like the super six help!
And yet Tito Ortiz could rip Bernard's arm off and pound him into submission. For someone who has such a high profile role in Golden Boy Promotions (Whom I might point out, has promoted MMA shows) his level of ignorance is through the roof.
I'm not into MMA at all, sure, watching a highlight reel of the KO's is okay but there is too much cuddling going on. I don't mean that from the homophobic angle that B-Hop came from, I realise these people aren't gay.
