All of his losses involved some sort of controversy.

Loss to Baldomir involved 2 points deduction in the tenth round.

Loss to Margarito involved a hurt left hand in the 5th (he was winning 1-4 rounds IMO)

Loss to Cotto involved a questionable split decision.

Notable wins are Judah and Corrales

Just how good is this guy?

He's a very good fighter and he'll proved that vs Quintana. Baldimor got a very lucky break as far as i'm concern.

Clottey was easily winning the first 4 rounds vs Margarito (watch the fight again freddy). And i thought Clottey won the 8th round in which i have it 115-113 for Margarito.

It was not questionable in the Cotto vs Clottey fight. I wish some here that thought Clottey beats Cotto needs to watch the fight again without volume on. I want Clottey to beat Cotto in all honesty but Cotto won the fight clearly. Clottey did a bad move of not trying to win the last 3 rounds.

the clottey vs quintana fight should be good. i think clottey wins this one and im puerto rican.

i had the same score for the margo, vs clottey as well. i also thought that clottey easily won rnds 1-4.

it was a clear win for cotto. clottey was just not busy enough. if he would of let his hands go he would of won the fight.

The guy is good but not good enough to be a notable champ. Even if he wins a title he won't last long as a champ.

His best accomplishement so far is injecting controversies on his loses. :yep

agreed, Clottey is a solid fighter, top 10 in the division

but probably not good enough to beat the best at 147

    Def agree with the above.

Top contender but not good enough to be considered truly elite.

    However...........more important:

AMUNZ81 who are those glorious young ladies in your avatar with incredible personalities.

he's a semi-decent prospect who always fall short against more skilled fighters like baldomir and margarito. I'd say about a C/C- class fighter.

Hes yet to win the big one so far, and always finds a way NOT to win his biggest fights, but its not over yet and will be rooting for a good fight with Quintana. Hes a very good welterweight, good chin, sturdy, strong, not slow and not a soft puncher.... i think he would give anyone trouble.

Id like to see him vs margarito in a rematch if margarito returns to form, also would like to see him vs mosley and berto.

His toughness has earned him a lot of credit, his skills are good and he is strong and hits quite hard and IMO he JUST falls short of true elite level. His mental strength is lacking somewhat so maybe that's his only real flaw.

Please don't act like the Corrales win does anything for Clottey. Aside from that point, Clottey is a good fighter that will never beat a top level fighter. He just doesnt have the ability or will. If he can't take out a massively cut Cotto then he won't beat any top welter.

His stock would go down even further if they made him wear a bumper to stop the head butt damage.
