I'm sorry but Felix Trinidad = one the most overrated fighters in recent history.

OH yeah and one of only 2 or 3 fighters from this era in boxing that was truly happy to fight ... everything about fighting and leading up to the fight made this guy happy ... he often times looked like a little kid going to toys 'r us because he cleaned his room for a month straight.

Other fighters that were happy to go into battle ... Joe Calzaghe - Roy Jones jr.

Another thing for the guy who started this ridiculous thread ... any fighter - I don't care who they are ... have 15 or more title fights is great ... in this sport, its very hard to stay consistant no matter who you are and who you fight, anyone can sneak up on you and making it a long night. This man managed to fight some of the best fighters around and managed to rack up 20 title fights in the process.

    20+ title fights

    Jones
    Calzaghe
    Tito
    DLH
    Mayweather
    Hopkins
    Holmes
Louis (record for most consecutive title defense)
Robinson (probably has more than 30 but officially no one gave a damn - they were just trying to eat back then)
Chavez (all-time officially with over 30)
    Ottke

there's probably more but thats off the top of my head
You take a look at Klitschko and what he's been through in his career and he's only got like 11 title fights.

Fighters on their way to 20 title fights ...

    Cotto
    Mosley
    Wlad Klit
    Chris John
Arthur Abraham (no matter what happens in this tournament - he can get set up to win a title and defend that ***** 100x)
    Erdie (maybe)

Some supposedly fight fans on this site is just too dumb for me to even want to comment on but here goes: First of all Trinidad was never overrated. Trinidad never lost until he met someone bigger. Bernard Hopkins told Trinidad that he was too small; only to get in the ring and fight like he was scared... I lost so much respect for Hopkins after seeing how he fought Trinidad.. All that mouth and he was scared to engage him. Throwing down the Puerto Rican flag and all.. Secondly, Trinidad beat Oscar Delahoya and ruined a fresh Fernando Vargas. He also beat a heavier and talented David Reid!! This writer is a Trinidad hater and Cotto could never have competed with Trinidad.. That's why Trinidad got the accolades that he did. Could you imagine Trinidad knocking down Cotto and losing? I didn't think so... Trinidad was the favorite against Hopkins and he was out of shape and out of his league against Roy Jones and still looked good after being away for 3 years!!!!!! Do you really think Trinidad was overrated?? gtfoh with that garbage thinking....

my fault I got my decades mixed up ... it doesn't matter though ... from 93-01 he was unbeatable ... and he was the best fighter p4p in the sport of boxing. No doubt about it ...

    42-3 35 KO's

83% when compared to wins v knockouts

This guy fought fights that he didn't have to fight ... he could've settled with that WBA strap and not fought Hopkins ... he didn't have to fight Jones ... and he definitely didn't have to fight Winky.

you have got to be shitting me:rofl Hopkins put on a boxing clinic and not only outboxed Trinidad but outslugged him and handed him his ass in front of his fans. That statement alone is one of the dumbest ones I have ever read in my life. The flags in PR were at half staff the following morning.

    Hops was scared??:rofl

What other fighters had their legacies set at the age of 28? ... and his streak lasted 11 yrs and 40 straight fights ...

Who do you know that went on such a dramatic run as Tito? ...

Tito's power was evident ... as Jones, Hopkins, Winky, and DLH all avoided engaging with this man.

Why when they were naturally the bigger man? .... I mean Tito started out at 140 and these guys had been fighting 154-175 ... in the case of tasting power from a much bigger man, you should be able to eat those punches.

I already rate Cotto on Trinidad's level as far as resume and legacy goes. If Cotto wins over Pacquiao, Cotto passes him imo.

**** no ... when Tito was Cotto's age he had already won titles in 3 different weight classes and fought the likes of DLH, Whitaker, Hopkins, Campos, Vargas, Reid, Joppy, and Camacho ...

Damn Tito has fought 3 hall of famers before the age of 30 ... **** he was 28 ... and fought 3 more afterwards and who knows the fate of Campos ... **** ... that might be another one.

Cotto would have to seriously fight at middleweight and challenge Paul Williams, fight and beat PBF, and beat Pacquiao to just be on his heels ...

I can tell you this Cotto will never be on Tito's level ... to this date Cotto stiffest comp was Margarito who he lost to ... Tito's only losses came at the weight limit of 160-170

Head to head, Cotto gets knocked out in 6 rounds ... why the **** are you knew guys coming here talking this **** ... don't even put Cotto in Tito in the same breath ...

Thats like comparing Baldomir to Monzon
