One thing I have always wondered is why there isnt a boozer that is known as "the" place to go and watch a fight. Somewhere that you know it will have all PPV bills, other boxing fans and not just football fans that might just about know the names of the guys in the fights.

I am a Celtic fan and I know 4 pub I can go to and it will be full of Celtic fans on match day watching the game - I would like to know if there is something similar for boxing?

Liverpool could do with one too.

I've thought the same. You could kit the place out with boxing memoribilia, show all live sports but with the priority being boxing and play classic fights on loop if there's no sport on live.

Maybe a gimmick of offering a free pint to any pro's that drink there - incentive for more people to go to the bar as they may have a chance of meeting a boxer.

It's a goer mate. Shall we set up in partnership?

There is a boxing pub in Salford, just down the road from the MEN Arena multi-storey car park. They host the Manchester ex-boxers association there every month, for one example. It is down a side street. I know because I stumbled upon it on the day of the Calzaghe-Lacy fight and stumbled out of it a couple of hours later.

good idea. Every time the is Boxing on in the pub everyone pays attention to it.

If I had the money I'd open up a sports bar mainly for Boxing PPV's.

Not really sure of the town centre. There's a few pubs round by me who normally have the Friday Fight Nights on in the background and the Saturday ITV ones too. I know 2 Landlords and if I ever ask them to get the PPV shows they will and just do lock-ins for everyone

There used to be a place in Blakley run by a Mr Edwards which was a boxing pub.

He was the fella who adopted a young Cornelious Boza, who became Cornelious Boza-Edwards

I think it would be a great to have a boxing themed pub, just like Paddy said... showing boxing all the time, classic fights when nothings on, have memroabilia on the walls, could even have ex pros coming in doing soemthing similar to the after dinner circuit... :good

Me and my mate have talked about this for years but there isn't one in London. Not that I know of.

Me and him wanna watch the Froch v Dirrell bill but nowhere to go.

There's a very slight chance that Varsity on Oxford Road might have it on they sometimes did with Hatton fights, though it's probably unlikely as Froch and Dirrell ain't Hatton. If anyone hears of anywhere in South Manchester or the city centre post it up, there's a good lad!
