Not really. The kid has never fought the top fighters in his weight division domestically so this means nothing to me even if he wins.
Course, im looking forward to it. Arum should have asked if he could have Cotto - Pac on the undercard, it'd get more exposure as the world tunes in to watch Matthew.
Benny from LA LAW ?? wow that is a totally random blast from the past buddy .... What next, a mythical matchup between JR and Bobby from DALLAS ?? Im taking Bobby, that guy was always knocking about 5 guys out in random bar room brawls and then he walked away without a hair out of place, what a guy !!
Pointless fight. Matthew Hatton is nowhere near world title level and N'Dou is now well over the hill. What do we learn if Hatton wins? Nothing. Do I care if Hatton wins? No, he's boring and will lose the title within a year. They might aswell put Carl Baker up against George Foreman on the undercard for the Ring Magazine Heavyweight World Title - it's about as relevant.
Can't wait for This content is protected This content is protected Hatton v Hatton Welterweight World Championship ONLY ON Sky Box Office £15 The comeback fight everyone wants to see
I'm old school:smoke PS: Bobby would kick JR's ass, unless it was part of Pam's year long dream; in that case JR has a chance of pulling off the unconscious upset.
N'dou is insanely fit and always presents for tough 12 rounders. If Hatton thinks this is a gift he is gonna be in for a tough night at the office. N'dou has fought a reasonably busy schedule the last couple of years. He has been the full 12 rounds in 4 of his last 5 fights and was unlucky to lose on SD to Pual Malignaggi. N'dou will definatley put on a show, this will be a good fight to watch.
I must say, the IBO may be a pointless strap, but if the lad wasn't Ricky's brother it would seem like a much more valuable item than it is. I know it's crappy, but it really has been held by the likes of Lewis, Jones Jr, Hopkins, Ricky Hatton etc. My mate fought a lad for the IBO Belt not too long ago (and lost every round - sheesh) and it was a massive deal for him & all those around him. I suppose what I'm saying is, if Matthew Hatton hadn't already been in the spotlight, he'd definitely be lauded as one of 'Manchesters World Champs' if he won. Similar situation to Shea Neary, we all knew the WBU was shite, but he was one of ours & a good honest pro. Ahh **** it I'm rambling, but you get my point.
