Who can beat Abraham? I think Gevor was doing a good job in the first half of the fight. A fighter with high punch output who will stop any attempt for Abraham to look out of his shell to land a punch. Calzaghe would probably win comfortably.

But Taylor? Please. Someone who fades late vs someone who finishes strong. Taylor won't be able to get out of the way of trouble and will start getting tagged by round 10. I have my money on Abe by stoppage.

And who has he fought? He's not proven against world class fighters. Not ones as good as Taylor.

And Calzaghe would have done a "Lacy" on AA.

Also, why can't you make a prediction without an ALT? Member since 2004, and 56 posts? You're not fooling anyone.

I really, really hope that JT takes this one. If he doesnt it devaluates his next two fights.
Regarding his stamina issues he said that his doctor has changed his diet. (360 presentation). Probably a smart thing to do, cos he did look quite fat in the very first pictures when the tournament was announced. I think JT is too much out of shape in btw fights, making his basic shape worse than his opponents'.
Hopefully he can stay focused through the whole fight. AA has a killer punch that can deck anyone in the division.
IF Taylor is at his best he will win a wide UD. If not I think AA knocks him out in the last third of the fight.

Taylor was told by doctors he was actually losing weight too quickly.

Taylor didn't look like a man who has been doing adequate roadwork to get into fighting shape at the weigh-in in my opinion. Taylor started going downhill in the 6th round against Froch so i don't think he has miraculously turned that around. But its a different stylistic matchup and Abraham won't pressure him much until he really wants to turn it on. I don't know where i am at with this fight, i originally picked AA to stop him late behind on the cards but i couldn't resist the betting odds so threw a few bucks on Taylor to make it more interesting.

Won't be surprised at all if Taylor wins 4 or 5 of the first six rounds, only to get stopped late when Abraham decides to let his hands go. Though its really an interesting matchup considering Abraham has never really been in with anyone truly quality. Jermain has all the tools to beat Arthur (a jab basically), but he is good at ****ing things up. If Taylor gets carried away after realising how easy Arthur is to flurry on, he will punch himself out and get stopped.

This doesn't make sense to me. He's at 168 now, and he's still has problems with weight? They have addressed that by him eating better, but he should have been doing that all along and not waited to get knocked out before being more disciplined. Either that, or go to 175lbs.

Very good analysis Jeff. I think there is one significant factor you left out. Apart from Miranda, Sauerland kept AA completely away from big punchers. Nearly all of his opponents over the past few years had KO ratios of 40% or lower. He never had to worry much about what was coming back at him. That contributed a lot to Abraham's KO ratio. When you can attack without consquences, you don't need many skills. If he bull-rushes and lunges against JT the way he normally does, there WILL be consequences!

It is also true that from Ikeke to Simon, Sauerland steared AA clear of tall fighters. Over the last few years AA faced two guys at, or just over, 6 foot. They were LuJaun Simon and Mahir Oral. Facing the #43 and #29 ranked contenders in voluntary title defenses doesn't give one many bragging rights. Watch the Ikeke and Simon fights, and anyone with half a good eye can see that Arthur has serious problems with his approach to tall fighters.

You touched on Jermains jab, and very few people realize how badly a decent jab bothers AA. His defense against a decent jab is to turn his gloves palms in and cover his face. That makes him a sitting duck for a left hook. JT does not have a decent jab. He has a great jab! His left hook is ridiculously under rated.

Jermain has a very, very good shot at taking Abraham's zero.

Taylor's reach advantage is significant. Height 6'1" plays 5'10", and reach 78cm against 72cm.

You believe, that JT has learned his lessons, and he will respond his last knockout in big style. I´m not sure about that point, but it could likely be different. But, who knows that?
And, in your eyes, Abrahams skills are not enough to beat Taylor in this fight.
So,in the main points your extensive post is build on speculation and wishful thinking.
For sure, Taylor is "the more skilled fighter", larger in size and so on.
But can he keep his line, when Abraham puts pressure on him, esspecially in the later rounds, when might get tired. Not to forget the massiv crowd. This is my biggest question mark about Taylor.

I think, Abraham is a very smart fighter, has a big heart, a lot of self-confidence, and steam in both fists. He fights quiet simple, but is very straight an effective in his spurts. My impression is , that he has enough to the fight.
By the way, all I said is speculation, too. What matters is in the ring.
We´ll see, what will happen tonight. May the better man win.:bbb

    Good Post :good

I think we are going to see Abraham tire late aswell, Abraham fights in spurts and people seem to forget this, he does not finish stong he just fights in spurts and the 1st part of the fight he hardly does anything so that he is able to rack up more spurt flurries down the stretch.

Taylor will use his reach and keep him on the end of that jab and this fight will look similar to Taylor vs Lacy. Abraham wont give Taylor any problems.

    Wide UD for Taylor:deal

Jeff M most part of what you say is correct a little bit biased but correct.
There are two big if's here:

    1. IF JT has indeed turned it around to soundly improve his stamina as contrasted to his Froch fight and manages to throw combos and move out of Abe's power shots just enough to land other combinations to actually do some damage and frustrate Abraham calling him in the middle of the ring where he will use the ring to further advantage in the later rounds then he will be OK.

    2. IF JT won't be able to do that all night long, slows down and gets caught by Abraham's power shots repeatedly he will faint and be KO.

I hope JT's improved his stamina and makes it a great fight, but we'll just have to wait and see.

And Abraham has a good shot to end Taylors career.
