Freddie Roach now predicts an early KO win by PAC over Cotto

How is that talking ****? Motivation more like it.

 

And how correct was Roach regarding most of the other fighters he trained? He's managed to hitch his start to a phenomenal talent and do some great things for him, but he doesn't exactly have a stable full of world-beaters. He happens to be right pretty often about Pacquiao lately but that doesn't make him infallible. Ask Oscar.

the closer this fight gets the more ridiculous roach gets. ffs, two weeks ago he was talking about how cotto was the best and most complete fighter cotto has faced and how he didn't think manny would knock him out.

two days ago he was pushing for the ref to keep strict watch for low blows and now he's talking about an early KO win... roach is all hype. take it for what it is.

 

Roach is trying a new angle, ie trying to promote the fight...So he can use that as leverage should Pac wanna drop him as trainer lmao

 

Most likely wasnt his idea, nor his doing. They did something to Mosley with a cake and putting his cake figurine face down in a cake resembling a ring. He later apologized to Mosley for that and that it wasnt his idea and that he should pick the figurine up or knock his down too.

 

I can't wait for this fight, I love hearing all the talk about this fight. It pumps me up and this fight needs to happen already brfore I go on a shooting spree

 

Never write Roach off. He clearly has a deep understanding of Pacquiao, of Pac's conditions and capabilities, of Pac's opponents, and of boxing in general. No-one thought Pacquiao could blow through Hatton so quickly and so easily, except Roach. Not many thought Pac would be big and strong enough to handle Oscar, but Roach knew.

I think he will be right again. Cotto is a very, very good fighter, but he will not be able to cope with Pacquiao's speed. Cotto's defence isn't good enough. Pac by TKO around round 6.

Roach is just saying what he thinks. He's just guessing just like the rest of us are. Nobody knows what'll happen on fight night.

 

But he's reffering to Pac, not Oscar...and as you said, when it comes to Pac...he's pretty accurate most of the time.

Everyone thought he was insane for predicting a TKO victory over Oscar, everyone thought he was simply talking trash for predicting a KO inside 3 against Hatton. In comparison to those 2, this prediction is actually very modest.

 

Could be many reasons, one is possibly that Pac had some doubts and Roach needed to boost his confidence. But Pac needs to worry about the mid rds.. thats where Cotto is so strong.

 

Okay, man. I have to admit even though I always liked Roach but have gotten really tired of hearing his little quips, you have a great point. He's the one go-to guy for any different comments really.
