Everyones talkin **** on Toney. I bet anything that Toney will not only go the full 12, but he will do better then any one else has done recently.
How is he going to do better than the other three since Vitali's comeback? Toney is about ten inches shorter, has a lot shorter reach and has a very low workrate. He simply will not be able to touch Vitali who will pummle him until Toney's corner pulls the plug.
At this stage, I do not see the point of such a matchup as Toney's credibility is too low. James Toney needs to beat a contender first to make a valid argument to fight Vitali. I also think Toney who still has good skills IMO, is very poorly managed and promoted by goossen.Goossen is not doing **** for Jt these days.
yes he should dump goossen for sure..toney still has a big name..and skill set..sure he is not what he use to be..but it would be a big fight thats for sure.
It is not Goosen's fault James is not a draw and he has had an abysmal record at Heavyweight he has not beat anyone worth a crap. He was out boxed by Sam Peter for christ sakes and Peter has zero skill.
Toney did allright at heavyweigt and was only beaten by Peter in 6 years. If Goossen can't come up with nothing else than an off tv fight against a complete journeyman, then the promoter is to blame and not the fighter. Toney did his part he came in at 217 and is ready to fight a contender.Goossen has the likes of Thompson and Quizea under contract but he ain't doing ****.
Well, I don't think Toney could do worse than Sam Peter or Arreola did against Vitali, but that's not that difficult either...
