I don't think Taylor is an average puncher. I think he may be percieved that way because of who he has fought. He's fought a lot of guys the last 5 years that are hard as hell to hurt. He had Pavlik down and pretty much out. No one has done that. He dropped Froch. And basically, no one stops or even hurts fighters like Hopkins and Wright.

Pavlik and Froch are reckless by nature. I don't think the fight will play out in a way Abraham takes those kinds of punches. It will be one or two at a time, the majority of the time Abraham will play safe until he decides to unleash. And when he does Taylor is more of a leader than a counterpuncher.

The more I think about this fight one thing sticks out in my mind: AA better be a lot busier than he has shown up to this point in his career. If he lets JT dictate the pace of the fight and gives away the first 4-6 rounds he has no chance of winning. The reason that I say that is in order for JT to "fade" (which I think is rediculous-because your opp. punches cause the problem) late AA has to touch him early and at least pressure JT the way Pav and Froch did. I don't think AA has it in him.
Did you guys see the pics from the way in? JT looked like a giant!
This may be silly but I see this fight going exactly like Pascal-Diaconou - Pascal's skill set was far better and AD stalking late, but giving up too many early rounds and losing by 4-5 rounds!

The question about Taylors stamina really comes down to 2 things. Is it from lack of training.......if it is then Taylor can go down as one of the stupidest fighters in history, because when you have the type of talent standing across the ring that he has had you should be in shape........or is it mental.......if its mental then he is done for!

An average puncher who kept Hopkins and Lacy off for 24 rounds and knocked down both Froch and Pavlik. He's certainly not the heaviest hitter out there, but he has some great timing and combinations.

He does. Watch him KO Taylor 7th or 8th round.

Apparently it's from wrong weight control.

Pascal/Diaconu may not be a bad comparison actually. Will probably look a bit like that. You're right about AA. He doesn't lead. When he does get more aggressive, I have seen him throw some very wild an inaccurate punches. If he does try to be more busy, he may have a problem getting tired himself. I think he will have a lot of trouble getting inside to do a lot, and Jermain has plenty of power to keep him honest in my opinion.

Jermain is an economical puncher, but when he does throw, he often throws very accurate combinations. When Abraham is just standing there with his guard up, there is a good chance he'll be having more than one or two punches at a time coming at him. Taylor will be able to penetrate his guard effectively. You can bank on it!

Froch takes the cake for recklessness; Pavlik isn't even in his league. Pavlik at least has a rudimentary defence and throws technically sound punches.

True; Pavlik is always coming behind the jab. He nor Froch are the most athletically gifted fighters, but Froch leaves his damned left hand dangling by his side, but lacks quickness to do it against fighters with good speed. A good jab can always be a good defence. Froch could get sparked tonight. I don't know. I've went back-and-forth on that fight. It's great to have a good chin, but it will only hold up so long against top fighters.
