Me too, can't stand the ****er . I doubt Dirrell will do it though, he's too inexperienced and doesn't have much power but it would be sweet if he could pull it off. I wanted Jermaine Taylor to win this tournament but it aint looking good.
I'll be interested to get the rest of our Irish boxing brethren opinion tomorrow. I had that 114-114. Froch should have laid some more body work earlier. He was happy to pot shot the kid for 6 rounds and wait for him to gas. He gets the win but more valubale than that is what he needs to learn
I had Dirrell winning the fight by a round at the least and 2 at the most. He had his gameplan and it worked. Keep the crowd quiet for long times of the fight and dont be a sitting target for Froch. It worked for him. English fans may say he ran away but his footwork and speed had Froch all over the place. Landed the cleaner punches and more importantly made Froch miss time and time again. A great defensive display and the art of ducking and moving out of the reach of Frochs shots was good to see from Dirrell. This kid could well be the future at this weight division in years to come wont win the Super Six but if they work on his power he has the shots and movement to be a top fighter.
i think if dirrrell had have been a bit more positive he would have won the fight easily...he was by far the classier boxer, but just a bit to negative at times...im happy enough with the result but i would not have complained if dirrell had have got it
An article JJ Nevin http://www.independent.ie/sport/other-sports/boxing-ahead-of-his-time-and-still-rising-1917249.html
A great write up! JJ Nevin is a class act. I hated having to spar him when I was in the high performance. He was so hard to get close to never mind hit. People don't think he can punch but there's defenitly a bit of sting in his shots.
