To be honest , i am very impartial and live in the UK.. I think like many have said , to take a champions belt away it has to be hard fought and clearly won, not stolen by flash reflexes.. I had it very close, in fact i saw a lot of the rounds close and awkward to score because of the flurries that Durrell was throwing that werent finding the mark... Froch did try to make a honest fight out of it and Froch only looked bad because Dirrell wasn't competing to steal a belt he was content in making it awkward and taking a chance on slipping in and out in an attempt to sway judges, and in anything other that a championship match he may have been treated to a draw or a 1 point up win.. I would have never complained if it had been a close call in the other way.. But I saw it as close with the solid work aggressively put in by Carl, not the best thing to watch but i wouldn't go over the top screaming about bad decisions.. Durrell may learn and make it through the super six if he starts to be more of a hard nosed pro instead of doing a OLympic shuffling Sugar Ray showcase.... Entertaining tho, a good evening..

    You're an idiot.

You ever heard of ring generalship? Dirrell was clearly landing the cleaner punches. The 1 punch deduction and giving away the last round really was crucial. I feel generous scoring it a draw for Froch's sake.

Here's a anecdote for you clueless ****ers.

It's only running in boxing if you're either moving the entire time while hardly ever throwing a punch... or if you drop out the ring and literally leave the arena.

Otherwise it's a part of boxing. And if you constantly claim it's running, then it's your negative idea of running is distorted. It's not a bad thing, and it's apart of boxing.

I didn't think that was one of the worst robberies ever and I don't have a big problem with the decision. It seems to me there should be more draws. This type of matchup seems to come along every now and then. The bull vs the matador. The latest one was Malignini v Diaz and that one too went to the bull. Froch was agressively coming forward the whole time but Dirrel landed alot of clean punches and some had some pop. I didn't agree with the point deduction but it didn't decide the outcome.

My favorite fighters style wise are guys like Froch who stand their ground. I don't like "Sweet Pee types" as much but I respect that style. It's an art.

A joke, those last few rounds sealed the deal. Dirrell is awful watch and both guys could have lost a point but that sucked. Investigate boxing somebody.

Its a myth that the challenger has to win rounds convincingly to take a title. All he has to do is win the rounds and Dirrell did that IMHO.

I didn't watch the Showtime feed but rather the British broadcast which was of coarse bias towards Froch.

Generally speaking it's no surprise that each county's commentators would favor their home fighters but I had Dirrell winning by a few rounds and so I suspect that Showtime's analysts was more honest than the British announcers who I found to be annoyingly slanted.

Dirrell probably won by a couple of rounds, but he behaved like a ***** in there. Running nearly the whole fight, bitching, complaining, falling down untounched, holding whenever Froch got near, hed didnt deserve to take a belt by fighting like that. At least Froch came to fight. Apart from his attitude in the ring, thought Dirrell looked great - speed, fantastic reflexes and footwork, great counter punching. If he ups the aggression he's a danger to anyone in the tournament

For heavens sake: scoring is not just about clean shots landed, its also about ring generalship, workrate, control of the fight and defensive skills. Froch held centre ring and was the more aggressive thoughout the fight. His punches were sharper and harder and Dirrell held whenever he got hit. I had it 116-112 for Froch, but since no one officially uses even rounds I would have it 115-112 for Froch. No robbery.

...In the Froch fight that is. The scorecards for Abraham Taylor were atrocious.

you can't score against a fighter because he boxes rather than brawls.. this is boxing..

and how the hell were Froch's punches sharper? :patsch

but the difference is..floyd does throw shots and flurries.

Dirrell tonight was running and trying to dodge/hold when hit..both similar but mayweather has more agression when needed.

Not a fan of his or dirrell on that showing by the way!
