The British commentators called Dirrell's performance a "masterclass in defensive fighting" and said several times in the 12th round that Froch had to score a KO to retain his belt. All of the British fans on the chat site were screaming that Dirrell won because he ran like a girl. So basically out of everyone watching the fight, two ****wads scored it wrong. Unfortunately for Dirrell they were the judges...

Also, Dirrell fought very effectively. It's not the kind of fight I typically enjoy watching, but he was effective like Floyd generally is and like Paulie was recently against Diaz. If anyone has the punchstat numbers please list them. I know that's not a perfect indication of who won or lost a fight, but I would like to see them regardless.

This tournament was supposed to be a breathe of fresh air for boxing, but instead it just spit in the face of boxing fans everywhere.

Edit: Also, when did rabbit punching become legal, because Froch did it almost every round out of frustration of not being able to find Dirrell.

I watched the Brit stream also. I'll have to try and see if I can get a better copy of it later to watch, but you are right about the commentators. If only Dirrell had fought more in the beginning like he did at the end of the fight I'd be a fan right now. One thing to stick and move, another to just move... Like you, not what I like to watch.

Pro boxing is also entertainment. You have to sell tickets. When the tourney was first announced I made a thread about this thing being a possible negative effect of the tourney and was just labeled a hater and accused of being upset Pavlik wasn't included. :patsch I really do try and be objective. I had hoped that Showtime's influence would mean the judges and refs were chosen to be impartial. So much for Showtime stepping up and making HBO do better... sigh....

Yes, its sad that they have this great tourney and they have managed to soil it already. Not including Bute should've been a warning that there was an agenda and that certain fighters would be "protected".

I'd rather see guys like Pavlik, Cotto, Darchinyan that have that straight ahead, throw bombs mentality, but I certainly respect the ability of guys like Dirrell. And will freely admit when it is effective and wins a fight.

I watched the Brit stream as well, Bunce needs to be ****in shot, funny how they suddenly agree Dirrel was negative after hearing Froch interveiwed, and justify the point taken off for holding.

Don't remember the Brit commentators wondering why Hatton didnt get a point taken off for clinging to Tszyu all night, ****in hypocrites.

Froch and several of his supporters have used this term. What exactly does this mean in this context? Froch is now my #1 most hated fighter on the planet and I want to know what and the hell he is talking about.

It was John Rawling & Jon Thaxton and they both thought Dirrell won...so did I.

punch stats by show time will never show up...

it will basically be like pissing in a fan because it will just make their own tournament look stupid as hell

Dirrel did nothing but run, hold, fall down on canvas, complain to referee. I dare anyone to claim Klitschkos are boring fighters. Dirrel is a total disappointment.

How can anyone win a fight by not fighting?

The stream I saw, the commentators were sucking Dirrells dick, if I may be so blunt.

I don't know about you, but I score fights based on punches landed. Sure Dirrell did some questionable ****, but Froch was getting schooled whenever they were out of the clinch.

Dirrell will learn from this fight. His grandfather was against him clinching so much so I don't think he'll let it persist in his upcoming fights. The kid is good and I'm confident he won't make the mistakes he made tonight in the rest of the tourney.
