I'v wondered about this and haven't received a good answer yet. If Taylor drops out (which i think he should) how would a Replacement jump in seeing that

    1) the points system - It wouldn't be fair for them to get a 0 without having lost a fight

    2) The contracts - I imagine that whatever agreement they have, if Taylor wanted to leave out of concern for his health they'd understand.

How would any of this work?

And with the replacements i'v seen people wanting Bika and Green, wtf? Neither of them deserve to be there

Bute, Andrade, & Pavlik are the real choices if you want to determine who the best is in that weight range

Balzsay & Stieglitz have proven themselves more than Green, & while Bika is a awkward, hard fight who has he beat? Codrington and Manfredo jr, come on.

How the hell is Bute a horrible replacement? After Kessler he's the best SMW based on accomplishment.

Bute would be the best choice.

Whoever walks away with the IBF title after Bute/Andrade would make a great replacement as far as I'm concerned.

The replacements would simply step in, that's all. They would only have 2 fights left to gain points instead of 3.

It shouldnt change and why should it ? They would be a replacement for a reason. Allan Green was supposed to be the guy and I suppose he isnt a bad replacement but in a perfect world Bute-Andrade II winner gets Taylor's spot which I pray to god he gives up.

There should be two candidates with a one-off fight for the replacement spot. Winner gets 2 points for a points win, 3 for a KO. Of course, this is unfair in a way too, to the other 5 guys, as this person will have not earned his points against a legitimate S6 opponent.

I think Bute/Andrade winner should be given points and entered into the tourney...

    Winner gets points and passage...

i hear what you're saying but it isn't fair to the other fighters to just give them points for not having done anything.

The best solution is the two face off and winner gets into the tourney + the points for that win but again......not perfect since the other fighter isn't a s6 guy.

I really don't see how this can work

I really think they are going to need some replacements. Taylor needs to step away. When you score two wins over BHop, and then decline to the point where you're losing to guys like Froch and Abraham, and looking as bad as JT looked tonight, it's time to quit.

I've haven't been able to pin down a straight anwser about points for a replacement fighter. They must have some kind of plan in place, but I have no idea what it is.

Taylor was the biggest name in the Sauerland Six, and he is probably out now. That slop fest in Nottingham was one of the worst world title fights I have ever seen, and the ref was either incompetent, or on Hennesy's pay roll. So, I don't think replacements will really matter much. This thing is going to fall apart pretty fast.
