Dirrell. I think even a draw would have been unfair or pushing it. Froch barely landed anything all night. Also, when the did actually momentarily exchange, he came off the worst.
^^ Yeah he did. That was surprising in some ways, but not in others. Quite often the quicker handed man wins in a fire fight, even though it should have favoured Froch. Dirrell was just much quicker and a better timer of punches. Froch's seemed to take an age, and were really wide.
I think the early rounds may have cost Dirrell. I'm not sure he would have been as far up om the judges cards after 4-5 rounds as some people think. They were all slow, largely uneventful rounds and Froch was the man coming forward. I'm not saying I agree but maybe thats the way those rounds were scored?
Your supposed to count both fighters landed punches, not just the hometown fighter :yep But Froch did win some middle rounds, he still got schooled
It must have been the early rounds. I got 4/1 on Dirrell at the half way stage, so that is how the bookies read the opening rounds along with conventional wisdom that said Froch would get better as the fight progressed. I covered my ass by betting Froch at 9/2 before round 12...which sort of tells you how the fight went. All from Bet365.
7-4-1 even. and the even rd would have been dirrell's but for the deduction. no big complaints though. dirrell was too defensive away from home.
**** that. Schooled my ass. Dirrell fought an awful negative fight and dragged it down. More holding then Strictly come dancing. Froch fought Dirrell at his own game and still beat him. If Dirrell had been awarded the belt for that it would have been a travisty.
Your boy was schooled KingCobra, absolutely outclassed from start to finish! Even though Dirrell was on the move for most of the fight he still managed to land the cleaner and more accurate punches while Froch was punching thin air.
that shouldn't matter. Dirrell won more rounds and was robbed. worst home cooking seen i a British ring since Hatton-Tszyu..oh hang on Hatton-Lazcano.
Something made Dirrel bleed from the mouth and nose. Dirrel did nothing but hold, fall down on canvas, complain and bleed. You can't win a fight by not fighting.
