Hoooly ****! :patsch It never fails. No matter how thoroughly Jermain Taylor gets his ass beat there's always some idiots who have him ahead in fights. According to some, Taylor has never been behind at the end of a fight in his entire career. :nut

I disagree. AA had a hard time landing on Taylor and AA got outworked. Other than the early rounds which belonged to taylor, the rounds were close. Anyway, the fight is on youtube now so everyone can form his own opinion about it.

Taylor worked hard, he was throwing a lot, but he was landing very little. I think if someone was watching on a shitty stream or from the back of the arena you might be fooled into thinking JT was marginally ahead, but for me, Abraham was clearly blocking and slipping almost everything Taylor threw, and when Abraham did press the action he was having much more success landing clear, point scoring, shots.

I really don't see how anyone could score that fight objectively and have Taylor ahead. Come on man, he won a few early rounds because AA allowed himself to be outhussled, but when did Taylor land ANY CLEAN EFFECTIVE POWERPUNCH in that fight? ABSOLUTELY NEVER! Sure AA didn't land that many clean punches either because Taylor who i thought was using his jab well made it hard for him to get in. But he landed a shitload more than Taylor, especially in the second half of the fight.

On my card AA was heading towards a 116-111 victory.

And as for German boxing being corrupt, hometown boxers get hometown decisions ALL OVER THE WORLD, and i don't think it's any worse in Germany than it is anywhere else.

Taylor barely landed anything of any consequence, certainly not enough to dominate. Arthur was always landing the better blows and stopping Taylor from landing.

The fight was competitive, but only because Arthur has a low work-rate - it's what you like at that point. But Jermain was NOT winning the fight. He was being mastered slowly.

It was a pretty competitive fight with Abraham scoring more till the stoppage dumbass.

I bet if he didnt KO Taylor all his crybaby fans will cry robbery.

Seriously, shut up - both those blows were well below the borderline. Ever the Showtime guys admitted it.

Like you, I had Taylor ahead by a comfortable margin going into that 12th round. I also thought that Abraham needed that KO, or a least a KD, though I already suspected the judges might have Abraham ahead on the scorecards and JT would get robbed. Seems like we're the minority here.

In fact I'm glad that the KO happened. Because of the KO there's no controversy now. And I actually like Abraham. The judges scorecards don't surprise me, that italian and south african judges are known to favour the hometown fighters. What surprises me is that so many people here had Abraham clearly ahead on points.

It's true that most of Taylors punches landed on AAs guard. But he still connected on AA with jabs and short hooks through the whole fight. He was far more active and outworked AA. Those who claim that AA was more effective when he threw his combos are wrong - these punches either caught Taylors guard too, or he punched holes in the air. These bombs may look impressive when they're thrown, but they aren't when they dont get through - simple as that. Or do you guys count rabbit punches? Abraham only landed like 3 really good clean bombs on Taylor during the whole fight, in the end it proved that was enough to get the KO, but it isn't enough to win rounds. Abraham was not active at all and gave away the 4 first rounds. Then the fight got closer, but still AA was not turning the fight around. Until the last half minute of the very last round, that is.

7-4 for me, Jermain was headed for a pretty clear defeat.

You have to land. I don't care if they are arm punches in the clinches, or borderline low blows, or rabbit punches the referee isn't calling, but in those instances glove is hitting flesh and thats something. Anything.

95% of Taylors offense hit AA's gloves. And while he scores for activity, Arthur is scoring for defense, and Arthurs cleaner connects, more powerful connects, and sound generalship had him picking up rounds easily.

I don't in fact see a case for Jermain being headed for a win. I could be sympathetic to a close fight, maybe a 6-5 for either fighter, but saying AA needed a KO in the final round is well and truly absurd. JT in no way had 7 rounds in that fight.
