i think kessler is a great fighter but his bread and butter is 1 and 2... and i dont think thats the best way to get to AA unless those are counters and that isnt mikkel's forte persay... stylistically, i honestly think ward has the best chance of the fighters in the tourney if his chin holds up due to the diversity of his arsenal; he throws basically every shot in the book w effectiveness; and his footwork and use of angles... but the key to that fight is him being able to take AA's bombs... either way, he would make AA open up more.
If Jermain wasn't to shot to throw his left hook, to shot to counter punch, and to shot to simply step over and throw a big right hand into the side of AA's head, he could have won big. That was AA's best performance that I've seen, but it ain't that hard to look good against a guy who is to far gone to move around or pull the trigger.
Jermaine just couldn't pull the trigger, Abraham was missing wildly and JT didn't capitalize. I don't see Arthur as the enigma that everyone else does, I think Dirrell and Kessler will beat him.
Andrade aint beating Abraham, his high guard will be a nightmare and Andrade will get punked everytime he tries to get inside and Abraham might even win a KO. Dirrell, Ward, and of course Kessler has a decent chance of beating AA.
We'll never know. Getting knocked down by a shot to **** Roy Jones doesnt guarantee you a win by a power puncher as good as Abraham.
Kessler is physical enough to do. There isn't a specific style to beat AA, but Taylor was too weak to.
A simple boxer mover with a good beard would give him hell. If you don't have the punch resistance and defense though you won't survive when he decides to turn it on.
You tell him that his shorts are torn and when he looks down to see for himself you get him with your uppercut.
Abraham has always looked beatable but seems to get stronger and stronger. He seems also to fight to the level of his opposition, I think he can go further, he has a few tough fights left. I think his best fight is still ahead, a tough win against Kessler, everyone else I think he outtoughs.
Kessler has a pretty good style in my view to beat Abraham. He doesn't take any rounds off, he's very precise with his jab and right hand, he's very good in defense himself, he's good with timing people who attempt to swarm him (Andrade/Calzaghe/Mundine) I think he'll get through the guard of Abraham occassionally owing to the leverage, angle and such that he generates. I also think when Abraham drops his hands and starts to swarm, Kessler will counter him effectively. Should be a good fight though.
Most of this is true. however, i do not think it would be all that competetive. Pretty much a one-sided beating.
I see Abraham being able to give Kessler his toughest fight with the exception of Calzaghe, but I do expect a 115-113/116-114 victory to Kessler. Don't see either guy, despite their power, knocking the other out.
