The kid gets in this tournament despite being untested and thats a huge gamble. His first fight is a formiddable one Froch in Nottingham. Hs nervous as hell and never boxed abroad. He comes over and boxes very very well, Froch is a dirty ****, Dirrel whos never had to deal with that gets upset but regains himself to box buetifully again. Then i think he wins and dosent get a proper fair shake IMO the guy puts in all the effort for judges to be slighlty wrong what a shame, poor guy.
yeh why bother if i lose a bad decision i think why the hell am i doing this but then you just go back to the gym cause its all you kniow
Was half asleep watching it and I thought Dirrell was being quite "dirty" himself Greg......maybe watching through Froch tinted specs though. The thing was, Dirrell didn't get KO'd (better than Taylor), and now fights Abraham, and must take some confidence into the fight. He will feel he can cause Abraham problems with his speed, and could get a result.
His post fight interview was very classy and took the decision on the chin. Said he'd get back in the gym and improve on a few things.
I didn't think Dirrell boxed very very well, nor did I think he boxed beautifully :nut. He ran, he held, he ran, he fell over.....all with a couple nice flashy combos thrown in... Dirrell didnt do enough, get over it
I thought Dirrell done enough and boxed the better fight BUT it was close to be honest!! I just thought Dirrell's gameplan was more effective and worked better than Froch's gameplan which was solely to bully and rough Dirrell up...:-( Main thing is though the British guy has got off to a winning start!!:good
I might have if he fought a really determined fight. He didn't bother throwing some punches till about round 10. Yes he outboxed Froch (I think most top level fighters will), but it was hardly Gatti at his finest, he fought a largely negative fight when he had all th skills.
I just feel for someone when the main objective is to win more rounds of the fight and you don't get the than your opponent and you don't get the decision.. I feel Dirrell won more rounds than Froch..
Too right I feel sorry for him. He won the fight and no, he didn't run. He used his superior footwork to evade power-shots and then tagged Froch almost at will. Defence is a big part of boxing and something I love to watch. Some people just like a brawl. Go to the pub if you want to see **** like that. In short, Dirrell won that fight and was robbed.
The sport is called boxing not fighting or brawling. He outboxed Froch comfortably and should have got the decision.
