Well, after all the initial scepticism and disbelief, it actually happened! Two thirds of the first round of fights between 6 of the best 168lbrs in the world went off without a hitch and the tourney is offcially underway. I absolutely loved it and I cannot wait for the next installment; this HAS to be the future of boxing, IMO. Having two world-class fights on the same night that had a direct effect on one-another made the event even more dramatic and exciting and was like watching the footy scores live knowing that the table would be effected by anything that happened in either fight. Sensational, IMO. Just sensational.

Any thoughts on the first night of the Super Six?:good

Two poor fights IMHO, obviously thats not the fault of the format though.

Yeah, the fights weren't the best but can't wait for the next set of fights. Froch has to face Kessler, Dirrell is in against Abraham and Ward is up against Taylor. Jermain seems to be the weak link here.

Actually, I enjoyed Abraham-Taylor - it's not Arthur's fault that Taylor's a busted flush since Hopkins mugged him.

Froch-Dirrell was dreadful. One of the worst fights I've seen this year.

I thought Kessler-Ward was the next fight?

    great format.

they should overlap this one with another at a different weight. keep the big fights coming over the next 2 years.

Stood on their own, they were poor fights

But the fact that the fights had consequences, and there was an element of certainty that we'd see the four protagonists face each other in the future, really juiced it up

I still have strong doubts the format will see it through to the end, Taylor is a doubt already (badly concussed), but it offers a glimpse of what could be, if only boxing had some semblence of structure

i agree, it was a great show and i had a good quality picture on my comp, enjoyed seein some old fights in between, and not knowing the dunne result, settled down to tune in but i did not see that demolition coming thats for sure, the little thai man had a pacman esque display.

abraham put on a great display aswell, and the thumping shot in the last was one of the best i've seen, but the sound of taylors head hittin that canvas still haunts me a bit.

froch vs dirrel could have went anyway for me, that point deduction just scraped it for froch in my eyes.

overall it has set the bar for kessler and co to keep us entertained, future of boxing ? not so sure, especially with the online shenanigans, but defo leaves me hungry for more. :bbb

At least the away fighter knows he has to KO the home fighter to win. That's going to make it exciting.

The format is good and im looking forward to the next round of fights but i expecting more from both fights.Froch vs dirrel was dissapointing mainly because of Dirrels running and Taylor vs Abraham wasn`t the most exciting untill the knockout.

The format was terrific and I was a kid on Christmas day when Taylor made his entrance in the O2 - I wanted to pinch myself. The AA v JT fight was enjoyable but Abraham is a frikking animal and oddly my missus has a wee bit of a crush on him! (but she likes hard *******s haha) I really hope that JT quits I think it might be best for him to quit. Bring in someone like Bika would do. I don't think anyone wants to see Taylor keep getting hurt and getting dropped like that.

The Froch fight was a great event but Dirrell whilst technically very, very good really narked me. The complaining, the holding on, the complaining, the holding on. It's boxing not tiddlywinks! But he's a very good fighter with extraordinary speed and reflexes and whilst the fight was a disappointment I'm just glad Froch got the win and we move on to Copenhagen. War!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
