Froch's weaknesses were already glaring, to be honest. He got a gift decision against Pascal, a narrow escape against a veritably washed-up Taylor, and last night was even worse. I think Kessler stops him and AA will certainly blow him away, but Dirrell has suffered an undeserved setback.
When did Mayweather run and hold? Mayweather uses movement and throws punches to back opponents off. He caught Hatton with that left hook ALL night till he dropped him like a can of cheap beer in England. Froch was wide open for the same punch and Direll didn't throw AT ALL and when he did, in the 10th, Froch was wobbly all the way to the 12th. You are a ******.
Once again, although I don't agree with it that's the way it is. Judges score punch output as well as punch effectiveness & aggression but they tend to frown upon holding, running, etc. Dirrell had to get up from quite a few slips because he was jumping all over the place and leaving himself off balance. All in all a very ugly fight but if I was a judge Andre would be the new beltholder.
you direll ***s are delusional! froch treated him like a rag doll the big mouthed pissant got thrown around that ring (inbetween his usaine bolt impersonation) like a *****! save your whining for wards impending slaughter. jean pascal at ringside: 'carl won no question' i agree.
The epitome of prtected fighters Darius Mickieie e eie what ever Joe Calzaghe and now Carl Froch Last I checked none of those guys were US citizens !!
That's how the guy fights! Does that mean that Froch chasing him around throwing punches at no one in particular wins the fight? Please take the Stevie Wonder glasses off Dirrell hands down! Let's get rid of the "have to take the title from the Champ" theory! If that's the case give the champ +2 to start the fight and the challenger has to overcome the defecit. Each round is scored on it's on merit and Andre won.........
There are bad decisions everywhere, with the states recently you had Malignaggi-Diaz and Shane Mosely would've got a decision against Mayorga if he hadn't knocked him out which would've been a robbery. but with Bradley against Witter, to me he comfortably won the fight and yet the judges still had it so close. So it was still poor scoring in my eyes.
He did horrible way to get an L on your record ..If Froch had did to Dirrell what he did to Taylor I'd be siging his praises but for this **** ..This man got a huge gift !!
Excellent post. I've thought for years that a simple solution to this problem would be to put together a panel, or hell, just an instructional video, created by former fighters and trainers to educate judges on how to score close rounds. Make them sit down once a year in an exam type setting, score a close fight, and grade their results. If you fall outside of a reasonable range of scores, you don't get to judge the big fights. Every other major sport has oversight of the performance of it's officials. The lack of this in boxing is keeping the regularity of its results in the Stone Age.
It will be harder for him to make it to the next round, no doubt. But he can still do it. He has a good chance at beating Abraham and if he does get the 2-3 points from that, then it's down to the Ward fight.
Judging aside.. Boxing is a bigger spectacle in Europe. Everyone saw the show the Germans put on for their fights. Sell out massive venues with ease. Where as people like Mayweather cant even sell out an average size arena. The ref in last nights fight was Panama's hector Afu. So he is supposed to be a European homer? :think
