Hometown decision happens everywhere not just England but at least have the decency to admit that Dirrell did beat Froch. Froch did absolutely nothing and I still don't understand how he got the nod getting schooled for 12 rounds. I could only give Froch two rounds and those were close too. Most of the close rounds Dirrell did more.

Im from Europe and Dirrell won that fight. He landed more often and he landed the cleanest punches. Froch fought a dirty, lousy fight and Im extremely disapointed by his perfomance. Dont hide behind that bull**** EU vs USA thing.
Reality check. Dirrell barely landed more, certainly not the power shots, which Froch outlanded him on. Froch chased him down and tried to fight, Dirrell ran and didn't even try and counter, thats massive in a judges eyes. Froch only fought dirty because Dirrel spent the night clinching and diving, while throwing his head down and ramming it in Frochs stomach, so if Dirrel wasnt constantly clinching, Froch couldnt fight dirty no? Dirrel is bad for the sport. The biggest thing on this forum, people could accept Dirrel winning by a round, maybe 2... but peopel claiming it was a robbery? it was a close fight, I personally had Froch winning by quite a bit, but with the rounds so close, you can argue rounds, I score on aggression, and Dirrel didn't throw/counter anywhere near enough to stake a claim to counter that aggression. Dirrel won the last 2 rounds ( 3 barring the deducted point) thats what has people upset, they only remember the last few rounds.
u act like froch is a saint or something. When a clinch is involve it is up to the ref to break it up. Not for the other fighter to foul as well too. Dirrell didn't start to clinch until late rounds but Froch already hip toss, headlock and etc. They both foul and fouls are not uncommon. Just look at hatton's fights... Hatton will hold as part of his attack. When he is in no danger. But it doesn't mean that dirrell didn't win when he outlanded and landed more clean shots, display better defense and applied effective aggression. You think Froch wants an outside fight? He was getting jabbed all night from the outside.
You are just extremely wrong. Dirrell did land cleaner and more often. Also I cant even remember Froch landing power shots? Froch did chase Dirrell and Dirrell did hold and ducked his head down - but thats called defensive fighting - PBF and others has showed this numerous times. You cannot score a fight solely based on aggresion. You have to count how many times the fighters land punches. You know - hit the other guy in the head or in the stomach - not in the back of their heads and not on their backs. Dirrell was way too scared and ran too much. But he did indeed land more punches. Froch won most rounds from 5 to 9 and then the 10th was close in my book. But 11 and 12 belong to Dirrell if you score the fight by punches landed.
The fight wasn't even close. A fight is judged by clean punches, effective aggression, ring generalship, and defense. I don't think anyone who watch this fight would disagree that Dirrell landed more, harder and more flush shots. I thought Dirrell was effective in keeping the fight at his distance and pace for 90% of the fight which is in the center of the ring. Dirrell and Froch have ring generalship. Dirrell used the ring effectively "running" avoiding punches and Froch cut the corners well time from time which cause holdings from Dirrell. They both foul btw. Dirrell hold and Carl rabbit punches and hip toss. So they both can be argue as good ring generals. However only Dirrell displayed good defense while Froch is basically non-existent. I know Dirrell won 3/4 critria easy and maybe even 4/4. Anyone who see it differently. I would love to hear how Froch won this match
Wait, are you seriously arguing that running away = ring generalship and should be scored positively?
"running" Personally i don't think running should ever be used in a boxing ring. Dirrell used lateral movements to get away from getting hit. Where is he running to? Is a skill that can help you in boxing and Boxers practices it. Except flat footed fighters. Dirrell own the ring last night. Froch followed. Most of the fight was held in the center of the ring with Dirrell keeping at safe distance with his fast jabs being the ring general. It is hard to understand?
I admit that Dirrell ran like a *****, but that doesn't mean he didn't win... it was a pretty clear decision for Dirrell in my mind... anyone who says otherwise is obviously a non-objective boxing fan... you brits are WAY TOO nationalistic .. it's disgusting.
I didn't realise that good defence included running around the ring like a headless chicken trying to avoid Froch for the entire fight! Get real dude.
The most detailed and objective posts I've read on this forum today are from people who say that there was very little clear about any of the rounds in that fight and that there are quite a lot of them that you could make an argument for scoring one way or the other. I could link you to a couple of those posts if you feel it would help with your 'objectivity'....
They have legs. They can't use it or what? getting out of range is part of boxing skills. It is not like Dirrell didn't try to go for the KO. The kid got 18 fights and was clearly nervous but he won.
