so we're not factoring in what the general forum think? taking ther Brit forum alone is hardly a proper cross-section of opinion.

and by the way, my mother in English, I have more English friends than friends from anywhere else, and have lived several years in England. So find another angle to attack/disprove me from.
As it is, you're talking bollocks.

Saw it live and thought Froch won a close fight. Just watched again - Showtime broadcast and had Froch winning by a point, mainly because I scored some effective inside work for him. The work Dirrell did when seen up close on the TV definitely looked better than it did in the stadium (and I had an excellent seat). The dirty tactics IMO were 50/50 really, Froch's unfair tactics (rabbit punches and wrestling) were aggressive and Dirrell's (holding, dropping to knees, ducking below waist line, turning away) were passive. You could make a fair case for point deductions from both fighter and for a draw or a Dirrell win. I was actually really impressed with Dirrell as a boxer and after the fight as a stand up guy. I was less impressed with Froch who seemed to take Dirrells tactics more personally after the fight. I'll very much look forward to the next bouts of both these fighters to see how they continue to fare against different opposition.

:good Strangely enough, commentary is what swings the armchair viewers....the best idea of who won the fight comes from those in the arena at the time and who aren't contaminated by biased commentary

  13. In my opinion from being in the arena last night, i gave froch by 2 rounds, dirrell came to STEAL the fight and not win it by trading, he used hopkins-like tactics to spoil, however the lad is talented and to be fair he exposed froch's lack of character to withstand such tactics (he clearly lost his temper and went in with stupid lunge type superman punches that left him totally exposed) imo, calzaghe would beat him no problem winning by ud by 6 or more points. Froch vs kessler, id give it to kessler on points as he is more solid and i think he may even put froch down...

Yeah, but this is boxing, not street fighting.
He's the superior boxer and shouldn't have to stand and trade with Froch to win. Thats Frochs one and only way of fighting so he chose not to fight that way.
He won the fight and made Froch look silly. What were the punch stats, they'd make interesting viewing.
Frochs next two fights will be more to his liking. Looking fwd to them.

  15. Breakdown what i said again mate, Dirrel came to steal!!!, when your fighting in someone else's back yard you either need a ko or a strong fight to get the win via points, Dirrell wasnt busy enough nor was he the aggressor, due to these facts alone you can make a stake for Froch win. I like Dirrell but in fairness he didnt do it for me last night. I will tell you one thing tho mate, Froch looked terrible and will be exposed in his next fights, those immature lunges he was doing looked absolutely stupid, B-Hop would have crucified him last night, Froch reminds me of a slightly better Duddy thoughts anyone???
