    I think his speed is good, but his timing is what makes it feel faster to people he's fighting. Mosley deffinately has faster hand speed.

    I'm not big into this wrist-weights thing, but if it helps him...

    I think that Abraham is good at putting together punches on the move, like on the way in. He can maintain what balance he has pretty well. I think that his speed is a "crowding speed" rather than flat out flashing punches as Mosley has. Perhaps this contributes to Marquez's perception.

    I also think that Abraham is an underated "sneak puncher". Some of his punches are hidden and disguised quite well. I'd like to see him make more of this.

    I also agree with the poster who speculated that Marquez was a good bit slower for one that the other. But this remark does interest me.

    Agreed,Abraham is faster than given credit for.

    The speed in which he comes out of his shell fires hooks and come sback is tremendous.

    Is he blinding fast? No...
    But even a 90mph fast ball looks like lightning after you're fed a steady diet of change-ups and knuckle-balls.

    He is much faster than he is given credit for, and that is exactly the reason why he fights the way he does. AA is loaded with fast twitch muscle contrary to what some might believe. It is the reason he is so explosive and powerful. Some of the combinations he hit Taylor with were lightning fast three punch combos to the body and head. I'm convinced his trainers know that AA has to fight the way he does, because if goes all out, he is spent in one round. Fast twitch muscle is good and bad. Good because it gives you the speed and power, but bad because that speed and power come at the cost of endurance. Basically, he is a sprinter in a distance race. He has learned to wait and throw only punches that will land. Very efficient fighting strategy that suits his physiology. Bty, is Jermain Taylor ok? That was a nasty KO.

    You got to give some credibility to a boxer who made a comparison between 2 other boxers he fought in the past...;)

    Just like when Jose Luis Castillo recently said that "Pacquiao is faster and stronger than Floyd Jr."...;)

    Abraham has that special sort of "puncher speed" i guess you could call it...where every single powershot he throws looks like you're about to get hit with a sledgehammer...reminds me of Ricardo Torres...both guys put everything behind their shots...

    He's not slow, but he loads up so much on his punches and they're often so wild that he ends up being a little slow.

    There's no comparison to Mosley. That guy can blast a right hand like lightning.
