Andre Dirrell does not belong in the tournament

Its his health and career on the line so he has a right to fight the way he wants to.

He is too cautios/ a runner etc.People have said this about Mayweather, Hopkins and even Jones at times. The reality is its all about winning. All critics want is for you to lose. When you lose then they can say you were never that good. Despite some calling them boring Hopkins/Mayweather have shown that if you keep winning eventually ppl shut the **** up an accept that you are a great pure boxer.

Its not a fight, its a boxing match. HIT AND DONT GET HIT is the name of the game. Direll fought his way. Had he slugged he may have been KO'd early and that wud have left his career in pieces. If he felt the way to win was thru doin what he did, then he should do that. If u dont like him watch someone else, dont expect him to risk his health/career for your entertainment. What he did show in that fight was unbeliavable footwork and counterpunching ability, he made Froch looked like Baldomir. He fought his way an schooled Froch in the process.

AND HE WON THAT FIGHT.

Direll just beat that tomato can and got robbed, enough said. He got a free point and a referee welcoming him to throw combinations to the head, Hatton style, and still lost and wobbly from round 10-12.

There are many cockroaches here that need to practice some bungee jumping, the window is the best place to start.

 

In terms of talent, Froch doesn't really belong either. He happens to have the WBC belt, but if it weren't for that one technicality I'd have as much of a problem with his inclusion as with either Andre.

Taylor would definitely beat Froch in a rematch (assuming he's not totally ruined by the Abraham experience...) - too bad they're not paired up in the group stage.

Kessler will KO Froch within half the scheduled distance, as will Abraham.

Dirrell will lose by brutal KO to Abraham, and wide UD to Ward (this might be Ward's only win).

To be honest, I wasn't sold in the beginning on the worthiness of any of the other 5 guys to hang with Kessler or as among the six best at 168. So far, Froch and Dirrell have proven their lack of worth, while Abraham has proven his (and even Jermain to a lesser extent, lasting so very nearly the distance against a better and livelier and more weight-comfortable Arthur than we've really seen).

There's always going to be a pecking order in this sport, though - and with a hierarchy of skills comes the inevitable mismatches. Froch and Dirrell are about to find that out the hard way in Group Stage 2 (and these losses will be more brutal than Jermain's).

 

when oscar de la hoya "beat" felix sturm, he could barely bring himself to claim victory. to hear froch after the match was real uncomfortable. he got beat to the punch all night, looked terrible but won't at all be gracious and point out what we all can see.

dirrell held on to much. but that point deduction was not necessary considering that froch was employing some tricks of his own that could have cost him a point, and should have cost him a point if dirrell is gonna get docked.

this is your opinion and you are entitled to it, but i can tell you this much....froch fights aa by walking at him with his hands BELOW his waist like he was doing to dirrell and doing that awkward rocking motion w/ his left while its at his waist before throwing a hard yet very slow jab...his head will be removed from his shoulders.

 

I didn't like that fight and Dirrell's performance at all, but...

Watch Ali -Liston again, Ali runs in the early rounds but because it's a part hero we call it brilliant footwork.

Froch exciting? Going forward face first, arms stretched like a ****ing windmill, not able to land punches is exciting?

If I was in the ring with such a biased ref who doesn't reall do anything about dangerous, illegal rabbit punches, I would probably grab and run myself. Dirrell CLEARLY landed more and cleaner shots. To say he lots is like saying a basketball team that scored more points lost because they played defensively and ran down the clock a lot.

If Dirrell doesn't belong in the tournament then what does that say about Froch? The man did literally nothing in this fight.

 

I appreciate the flavor and interest that US boxers add to the tournament. So he should stay.

Real champions have the class and confidence in themselves to show respect to their opponents.' Take a lesson from Vitali Klitschko. When he took Arreoloa to the woodshack last month, he didn't boast or display false bravado like the tragically insecure Froch...rather, he complimented his opponent and said he would be champion. Now, of course, Froch didn't have the kind of performance, but he could at least give his ego a break for a moment and not say ridiculous things like that he thought he won all the rounds, 1 through 12.
