    What sucks for the Germans is that they don't have a "German" superstar to root for. So they root for guys like Wlad (Ukranian), Abraham (Armenian), or Michalczewski (Polish).

    Exactly.

    The biggest problem is how woeful the american fighters winning percentages actually are when they are asked to be the road warrior. Most of the time, they don't even show up in anything resembling top form and are not all that competitive even.

    That being said, the truly tough conditions were say London for a Bruno fight or Manchester fight w/ Hatton or those Hamed bouts. Those fans were much harder on opposing fighters and I suspect if conditions were of that same magnitude in Germany, probably 20% of the bouts thru the years would've actually taken place.

    Is it not possible to have a thread about Germany without the words "Nazi" and "Hitler"?

    Some people show extreme lack of education. Mostly they are Brits....

    The German crowd was well ... they showed good spirt and a non bias opinion ... they seemed to be a live crowd who didn't let everything distrract them from cheering who they were there for.

    Nice general statement there! :patsch

    Any fans who can pack out an arena at 2.45am in there own city to see their fighter who is also the champ deserve to be commended in my book. Giving most had been drinking since 11am are you surprised it gets a bit rowdy.

    :roll: Drinking is such a played out excuse. I've been to fights where the arena is packed with nothing but drunk and half drunk Mexicans and almost none of them act acted with as little class as the British fans do who disrespect opposing fighters' national anthems and scream out 'boo' and other obsenities as if the guy raped their mother or something. Face it, the English fans go too far with their antics. These men are athletes not merchants of death, so chill the **** out.

    Well he is known, but not a superstar by any means. I can´t remember seeing him on TV lately.
    The non boxing fans know Henry Maske(out of the german fighters), buts that about it. Well perhaps many know Axel Schulz, because he tries to get in front of every camera he can find.

    Regarding Taylor, I think the germans like him, he is a respectful athletic guy with a big name, so whats not to like about him?
    The german crowd doesn´t like trash talkers like Haye or Miranda
