Guys lets be honest about this, the only reason Taylor came anywhere near close to beating Hopkins was because Hopkins was DEAD at the weight. A 40 year old cutting weight - Hopkins should have been at 175 a long time before or at least 168.

once would be enough for me but it hasn't happened yet.

Closest I can think was Kasseem Ouma. That was embarrassing.

No, Taylor just doesn't have any head movement. He's an effective offensive fighter but is very limited defensively. He keps his left low so he can beat his opponent to the punch as many long armed quick handed fighters do. Recall many Taylor aplogists refusing to admit he got outjabbed; arguing how he only lost to Pavlik cause he kept droppng his left....I guess they missed all the straight jabs landing flush down the pipe.

Exactly. Though I think Pavlik edged out the rematch it was a close fight and no way Abraham was down on the cards. However, he was effective and competitive in all three loses leading up to the Abraham fight and 2 wins over Hopkins is nothing to scoff at; several years and fights later, and Calzaghe is the only fighter to be remotely effective against him.

I think the first KO he suffered, against pavlik really messed him up. but u have to give him respect. look at the guys he fought in the last 4 years! icant think of many fighters who have fought that caliber of opposition one after the other!

maybe hes not as great as everyone thought a few years back. but hes a very good fighter with a lot of heart and a LOT of balls!

This thread is rediculous to say that Jermain was not good to begin with, look at his recent competition. There is no shame in losing to those guys. Furthermore, all of them were extremely competitive and entertaining to watch.

We shouldn't kick the man when he's down.

    But this is 100% correct.

Zakman, you hold hate for paticular fighters....Jermaine Taylor is one of them.

Taylor quite possibly has fought has fought the highest caliber of opposition over the last several years, and win or lose has been dominated by no one.

The weakness in Taylor is that he does'nt know his physical limitations.
Great fighters know their physical limitations and learn to pace themselves accordingly.

No one has ever said Taylor was the second coming of Sugar Ray Robinson, so I dont know what you're getting at when you say "Exposed."

As far as I'm concerned Taylor is an exellent fighter with the capabilites to beat any fighter in the world.

.....remember I said 'capabilites", .....which does'nt always translate to getting the job done.

....but overrated? I dont think so.

Nobody should take zak seriously. He's just like anglosaxon, pavlik is champ and the some other ****** that post stupid threads after stupid threads. To bashed Taylor like that is just a stupid move. Taylor has fought the best in Hopkins, Wright and face young prime undefeated Pavlik, Undefeated Froch, Undefeated Abraham. I'm sick with Hopkins got screwed bs. Saying hbo is protected Taylor cause of the hype is pure stupid. I guess people don't know who's Hopkins promoter is huh? Hmm isn't Oscar De la hoya who has a great strong close relationship with hbo? And hbo would screw Oscar like that?
