    Really? Why?

Cotto has represented more often, and against better comp.

Maybe because Cotto has better skills than him and that threatens him.

JuanMa is seen more as the people's champ, he's kinda taken on Tito's role in that respect...Not saying Cotto's not loved and respected, he definitely gets love..

Cotto could never be like Trinidad so there is no need for comparisons imo.

I think Cotto was a little bitter about being in Tito's shadow and every interview when he was on the come up had a Tito question.

I have heard the same from Puerto Ricans straight from the island. Even New York Ricans that visit come back and tell me JuanMa has the love of the people in PR unlike Cotto. Billboards of JuanMa and everything.

Speaking as a rican who lives on the Island i can say Cotto is very respected but he is not as loved as Juanma, as another poster said, Juanma is seen more as a peoples champ because he is very outgoing and friendly with the people of PR while Cotto is not, he is more private and also acts arrogant in public but he is still very respected as a boxer and we see him as our best active boxer right now.
As for Tito and Cotto, the problem is that not just with Tito, Cotto really doesnt have any kind of relationship with any other alltime great PR boxer and he has stated that he doesnt like to be in Tito's shadow.
Tito is very friendly with PR boxers and he always helps out Wilfredo Benitez, Gomez and other great PR fighters that have financial problems.

Tito is a hater on this one. Cotto was the next ni99a when Tito was fading and Tito aint like that.

Funny someone else has noticed this because I have always noticed this same coldness between Cotto and Trinidad. I don't think I have ever actually seen them together at any point in time actually. However, Tito has very often been seen hanging out with and eagerly congratulating other fighters with lesser achievements such as Juanma and Calderon. I just think Cotto and Trinidad simply are not too fond of each other. I reckon there must be an intense rivalry between them legacywise that makes them naturally antagonistic to each other. Cotto probably envies the great appeal Trinidad gained from PR fans and Tito's legacy. Tito fears Cotto as a threat to his status and legacy.

Cotto has never been as popular in PR as Tito was. I, personally have always preferred Cotto to Trinidad (I never liked Tito that much anyway) but I am in the minority among the PR fight fans. On the other hand, Tito probably is scared and fearful that Cotto may take his own place as the greatest PR fighter of recent history. So, in conclusion, Cotto is jealous of Trinidad's legacy and that's why he isn't fond of him. On the other hand, Trinidad is scared and unhappy that Cotto might soon, very soon, as in this November, surpass or equal his own legacy. That's Tito's reason for his antagonism to Cotto. They both have their own reasons to dislike each other.

I am stoned atm, and I just thought of Cotto-Trinidad in Jose Miguel Agrelot Stadium in Bayamon for 2011 at 154 lbs for the hearts and minds of PR boxing fans. . .umm forget what I just said. . .I am stoned.

If this tito hating continues Cotto needs to handle his business and challenge tito to a fight.
