Define "all time great." Top 10? Top 20? Top 25?

In the division? Across all divisions? Be more specific.

I voted yes. He's accomplished a great deal, has the highest KO% in the division's history, and measures up really well against anyone head to head.

No, he needs to do more work.

Having a great KO% and making a nice comeback at an advanced age are nice, but what ultimately matters the most IMO is how you perform compared to the other top guys of your era, the opposition you beat.

He needs to beat more top ranked heavyweights.

Despite probably being a lesser fighter H2H, his brother easily has the better resume of wins. I'd probably rank Wlad higher all-time as of now.

There's really no one out there for him to fight though. He's done pretty much everything he could given the circumstances, other than fight his brother, which isn't going to happen.

Well that also deals with what he wasn't able to do in the past.

Beat Lewis, stay healthy and actually fight from 2005 through 2007. Sure it's unfortuate that he had injuries, but staying healthy and not injured is part of being a top successful athlete. Many athletes have fallen short of potential due to injuries.

He could keep fighting now and beat more contenders and have a stronger claim. It's gonna be hard at his advanced age, but what are you gonna do? Give a guy credit for what he "could have and should have" done if he had been healthy? It's very impressive to make a comeback and beat a beltholder after 4 years off, but you know what I think of more in terms of ranking guys? Staying active and injury-free and beating contenders/beltholders time and time again, like what his brother did during this timer period.

It's basically what he can do from here, because he hasn't done enough IMO to be considered an ATG (a very subjective term anyway).

and that is his shot at redemption to make up for his first oppurtunity to all time greatness, his fight with lennox lewis. but seeing as he'll never fight his brother, his resume wil remain lackluster. it'll prove everything, it'll silence the critics (im one of them), it'll prove he's an elite HW, and it'll make his two losses mere boo-boo's then huge black stains. basically, it'll bump him up top ten greatest HW champions
