I respect your opinion but you're wrong. Mosley isn't even close to his prime so who cares. Floyd will school him and everyone will just say Shane was shot so it won't matter.

Welterweight isn't nearly as strong today as it was when Floyd retired. Make whatever you want of it.

Then the best wins in Floyd's resume will be Corrales, Castillo and to a lesser degree, De La Hoya. Not at all at par with Floyd's skill level.

I'm a Floyd fan, but it's a pretty big hole if he doesn't fight him and it's not looking very likely by his recent comments:-(. Beating the winner of Pac and Cotto would be a big step in terms of silencing the hate and adding to his legacy. Beating SSM on top of that would put certain things to bed for good.

It's better. Cotto is seasoned, Mosely looks rejuvenated, and Pac may or may not be the new man to beat in the division. Clottey and Berto are also hanging around the periphery and both have something to offer.

When Floyd retired no one knew quite who was the real goods and who wasn't. Margarito, Cotto, Mosely, and Williams were all jockeying for position but no one knew who deserved it. That's all basically been settled, excepting Williams because no one wanted to fight him.

The wheat has been seperated from the chaff and all Floyd needs to do is beat Mosely and the winner of Pac/Cotto.

If Mosley loses to Berto, w/c I doubt, then there won't be any FMJ/Mosley bout.

Maybe not, but it's still pretty damned good.

The two main characters gone are Margo and Williams, but Floyd wasn't going to fight them anyhow. Still got Cotto, still got Shane, Berto is better than he was, and now Pacquiao is in the mix. And Clottey.

He is Great based on what he did at 130lbs. The rest is icing on the cake. The fact that many people don't see this makes me think they only noticed him once he fought Gatti or something. He's already an all-timer.

Cotto is no longer undefeated and looks to have had years shaved off of his life in his last few fights, Mosely has gotten 2 years older and has been relatively inactive, Pac?
He was at 130 when Floyd hung them up.
Berto has looked vulnerable ever since his ESPN days. Easily the weakest champ in the division.
    Clottey?
He could almost beat everyone out there.
Margarito has been ousted because of some shifty things.
Williams is now fighting a division or 2 higher.
    Whatever else can I mention?
Are you honestly trying to say that Welterweight is better now?

If Mosley loses to Berto, there's little point in Floyd fighting him.
