Kessler: "If Taylor Had Just Used His Right Hand More He Would Have Won On Points"

He was still going to fade no matter which hand he used.

I thought Taylor was way too gunshy with his right as well. Don't know what the issue was. Maybe after Arthur hit him he was too concerned about being countered, or maybe he never saw the opening because he couldn't even get a jab through. But I think if he had thrown more looping rights around the gloves he could have made it more of a fight.

Coulda, woulda...looking forward to seeing seeing Abraham fight some of the other guys in this tournament. Should get to see more of what he's made of.

 

Great points by Kessler and he was right big time. In the early rounds Taylor did very well sticking his jab on Abraham if it lands or not but he hardly throws his right hand. I was saying in my head that Taylor needs to throw his right hand alot more then barely. I guess Taylor either was concern that if he did throw his right hand more, he either might get tired again or was nervous that Abraham will counter. But he should have throw his right hand more and as Kessler saids it, he would have win the fight by points without being ko.

 

If Taylor "threw" his right hand "more" he would have been "countered " more Mr. Kessler. Sorry to disagree with you but if I was JT's corner, I would have gone to the body and throw as many uppercuts, short or long. Two punches that bother Arthur. EVERYTIME JT threw a body shot, he was suprisingly pushing arthur back, he threw a couple of uppercuts that actually ALSO caught Arthur. WRONG GAME PLAN by JT's corner.

 

I see you don't like Kessler comments? How come? I think he's right. Taylor barely throws his right hand. Mostly all he did was just moving sticking his jab after jab after jab. Taylor should have done more then just jab.

 

Taylor try to throw an uppercut but it didn't land. I think throwing a right hand would have been better cause it can sometimes go threw the guard. Example of how Abraham ko Taylor is was when Taylor had his 2 hands guard high and Abraham throw a straight right hand right through the guard in the middle.

 

throwing a right hand more won't stop you getting caught flush through the guard in a spectacular one punch KO.

I was thinking the same thing. I did not understand why JT did not keep clubbing AA round the side of the guard with his hard right hand.

 

actually the left hook before hand forced Taylor to slightly adjust the guard and allowed the right to sneak through. Thats why combinations are always better than one punch at a time.

 

Whats wrong giving pointers? Are you a fighter? I guess thats a no. Kessler didn't say nothing that was a bad thing. And what does his fight vs Calzaghe has anything to do with it? And if i remember right i thought Kessler won the 12th round vs Calzaghe in which i have it 116-112 for Calzaghe.

 

Agree with Kessler's assesment I also beleive Taylor could of jabbed to the mid section more as well ..Kesller Abrham is going to be a war !!

 

Most great trainers are ex fighters who dropped the ball against worse opponents than Joe C.

 

Taylor didn't throw the right because Arthur didn't let him, you throw you power punch when you've created an opening, if you haven't, you stick to the jab which requires less energy and is faster. If Taylor had started throwing the right more, he most likely would have been KO'd a few rounds earlier.
