We all watched the recent Carl Froch v Andre Dirrell fight and some people thought Froch won, some people though Dirrell won and some people thought it was a draw. Well to be honest, you have to respect these guys. Four undefeated fighters entered this tournament knowing that the chances of their losing their unbeaten records is very likely. Two proven fighters in Taylor and Kessler entered to step up the competition and this resulted in six top fighters fighting each other. It takes balls of steel to enter a tournament of this magnitude and the slanderous comments I'm seeing about some of the fighters is ridiculous. I know Froch's style can be messy, I know Abraham likes to keep his hands up, I know Taylor has stamina problems, but sooner or later the fights are going to show some fireworks. Look what happens if Froch and Kessler start throwing bombs, or even more intriguing, Abraham.

Its just disappointing to see all these bull**** fans complaining of a robbery because they scored the fight differently than the judges.You can disagree with the result, thats fine, but throwing in the accusation of corruption is just a weak ass excuse. If you are gonna claim that the judges were corrupt then you better have something better to back it up than scoring some close rounds in favour of Dirrell. Even the judge who scored it for Dirrell only had him up by 1 point. Is he corrupt too? Judges are better at scoring fights than fans, I'll stick by that conviction. I have respect for Dirrell as a fighter, even though Froch was the better man on the night. And I have respect for Taylor as a fighter too even though Abraham was the better man on the night. Props to all 6 fighters.
Yes! So for I have not been disappointed by the super 6. It fully lived up to the hype for me. I wanted AA to win - so cool for me. I wanted Direll to win - so thanks Direll for making the fight pretty emotionally for me.
Good post. I completely agree about grown men in tears about a perceived 'robbery'. They are just embarrassing themselves. I can see how that fight could have gone either way. It was close, and most rounds were pretty hard to score. Just because you have a different winner in a close fight doesn't make it a robbery for **** sakes. Some people need to grow up and stop acting like under 5's
Great thread pal. Bottom line is we shouldn't lose sight of the fact that we're damn lucky this tournament is taking place at all. Obviously everyone won't be pleased with every outcome. As a Froch fan I wasn't hugely impressed with the way the fight went or the result but I haven't forgotten how fortunate we are to be able to witness all these excellent fights. Everyone needs to keep things in perspective!
I'm hoping boxing promoters are taking note. This tournament is the best idea modern boxing has had in a long long time. Could you imagine if the final match was 15 rounds? Email the people at showtime!

actually the last refuge of a boxing scoundrel is crying robbery when they are not happy with the decision. p.s. It was close but Froch was the better boxer on the night.
Whew... you should have been in here yesterday to make that post. There would have been about nine people who'd have popped up immediately and said you know nothing about boxing. I got in trouble for saying Froch is a better fighter than David Diaz.
