Calzaghe on Froch

Agree whole-heartedly with Joe's comments. Absolutely nothing wrong with what he's said, a very sensible evaluation from him.

Unfortunately Froch, with that huge chip on his shoulder, won't see it that way and will no doubt make some childish repsonse in reply. Change the record Carl, you're boring us all!

 

And right on cue, here is Froch's childish response!

"Joe Calzaghe had quite a difficult night's work with Mikkel Kessler and Mikkel Kessler is a great fighter," said Froch, who has a 26-0 record after a split decision against Andre Birrell at the weekend.
"For him to say Kessler would be too much for me to handle is just his opinion. I will prove myself against Mikkel Kessler and I know I have too much for him.
"Joe's not going to get behind me because, let's not forget, he vacated the title I have now rather than meet me. He's probably not going to have a kind word to say about me and there's probably a bit of envy there.
"He's finished with his career and he's just been booted out of Strictly Come Dancing for being as stiff as a poker."

You've got more to worry about than what a retired boxer writes in a local rag. Especially when it was mostly complimentary.

 

It is a shame he tries to live off Calzaghe's name.

He's a likable guy generally in his own right and doesn't really need to talk **** about Joe not wanting to fight him...why the **** would joe have fought someone who was still at domestic level up until he retired...seriously dumb...

 

Fair enough. I have been away for the last few months. Don't get me wrong I'll be supporting Froch all the way and if he wins this thing then it'll be crazy (legacy, respect etc)

However I can't help but thinking this is made for Kessler and to a degree is holding the division back.

 

True, but better the super six than 2 years of Kessler fighting nobodies

 

To be fair CF was JCs mandatory for the WBC belt. I can see why Joe vacated and moved up for the bigger fights and bucks. I can also see why Carl would be annoyed by that. Roles reversed and the young Calzaghe would have had a few things to say no doubt..... Doesn't matter now anyway, Froch has done ok without JC and JC is chilling in his arm chair :good
