...and this fact legitimizes the Super Six tournament format bigtime. If it was an 8-man straight elimination, Dirrell would be out. But despite of the scores, whether you agree or not, he still has two more fights to qualify for one of the 4 semi-final spots and for a possible rematch down the road. So relax guys, it ain't over till it's over! :happy
I have Dirrell a massive underdog against Abraham, and in the battle of Andres I slightly favor Ward.
No chance this boy has skills but he aint got a scrap in him! If it was the Olympic 100m final then yes maybe
its already a forgone conclusion that jermain taylor will be not making the final 4.... i guess its between dirrell & ward to see who will be in the final four.... unless kessler somehow proves to be over rated and none of us were able to notice until nov 21st
its fact? he's pulled out? source please. i really wish he wins this! esp from this moment in his life/career. i dont know why....but i like him & feel sorry for him. GO JERMAIN!!!!!
im just saying..... he prolly the weakest fighter in this whole ****.... he aint beating kessler.... and he has a chance to beat ward cause he does ok against boxers.... but i doubt he beats ward
With the way he chose to fight on Saturday, he's not winning anything big. Hopefully this loss will teach him to be positive at all times and move forwards and engage every so often. Stand your ground when possible and take the fight to your opponent. Dirrell has fantastic hand-speed and he can crack a bit. Why not take a risk and make sure you come out the winner? It's another big IF. Like, IF Taylor keeps his concentration under pressure and IF he doesn't tire late, he wouldn't keep losing to every hard-punching, determined guy he faces. He faces Abraham next, which I can see ending badly for him. Hitting someone's arms doesn't score anything and, every time Arthur lands, it'll be doing something. I can imagine him wearing himself out. If he was wary of Froch's sloppy, poorly delivered bludgeons, what will he do against a guy that's so unpredictable and explosive? Lot of big questions for the guy, hope he proves he can compete at the top table - but christ, has he been matched really tough!
If Dirrell shows some bottle to go with his talent then yes, he can win the whole thing. Froch's next two fights v MK and AA will be wars which will put plenty of miles on all three's clocks. Froch will much prefer to fight Kessler and especially AA, than he would Dirrell.
I don't think Jermain can ever be the same. Too many loses too close together along with the KO's. The self belief was gone before the Abraham fight. I think that was noticeable. Content to pump weak jabs into AA's guard and little else. The bad thing is, I can see him staying in this for the money. atsch Someone said JT was in the tourney because he told Dibella to go out and get him "the most money" he could
man i mean... imo he probably could never face big time pressure fighters.... i mean look at his entire career... what BIG PUNCHERS did he ever face to pavlik? i think match makers hold secrets about fighters that only very very very intelligent boxing minds know and would have to be around that fighter for a very long time to know..... he fights awful against big hitters.. he mentally breaks down i just wish for his safety
