Quittin against Maxim 'coz he gave away weight on a stinking hot night.. SHEESSSH!!! SRR was just seeking attention... The brilliant Ketchel would have eaten him up too!!
I'm getting tired of it myself, but not because he sometimes had a lazy jab. I'm tired of the people who throw him into every thread about a fighter that did something good. Some people make it seem as though he was P4P the greatest in every single aspect of fighting.
Oh, I don't know. Mrs. Robinson was a pretty sexy broad. "Here's to you, Mrs. Robinson, Heaven holds a place for those who pray..."
I get sick of it too. Too many parrot what they hear and read, happily wafting in the **** fumes and then later trying to justify them as rose-scented. No question about SRR's greatness and standing in the sport...but like any fighter he looked bad at times. It gets tiresome..the whole "he could do no wrong" shtick.
He jabbed lazily as did Archie Moore-Charlie Burley-Jose Napoles in order to make himself appear an inviting target...then BOOM!! If you knew how to evaluate an A.T.G. you wouldn't mistake it for anything else!
I guess if some folks can't fire a few feeble jabs at the ability of the super great Sugar Ray Robinson, it would take the fantasy and fun out of boxing forums where everyone gets to play the wise guy or the stooge. Photo: Muhammad (Cassius Clay) Ali Ali raised the bar of Sugar Ray Robinson when he said: "Some say the greatest is Sugar Ray, but they have yet to see Cassius Clay.":happybbb
