Did the Americans cry so loud and long when Calzaghe got SD over Hopkins?

There was a lot of crying from particular factions, there always is and always will be in fights that are relatively close.

I did have my exact score for that fight written down somewhere, so annoyed I lost it/threw it away. It wouldn't hold any credibility if I did it again; not that it held any credibility with you lot in the first place.

no because Calzaghe actually BEAT Hopkins, deep down even Bernard knows that, i think he might've even admitted it at some point, i'm sure i remember him saying something about it after he beat Pavlik.

The only guy Bernard has admitted to losing to is Roy Jones.

Obviously I have no idea about his pro debut, but had him losing the first Taylor fight, winning the rematch and beating Calzaghe.

I think one guy went away and recorded down absolutely every punch, type of punch and time of punch thrown, in Calazaghe/Hopkins fight, then came back to break it to the forum, to make his case that Hopkins won.

    That's dedication. : )

Given Calzaghe's work rate (even against Bernard) that's no mean feat! Call me lazy but I'd have conceded the point rather than do that.

Thinking about it, it may have been every punch landed over 12, but still, it's a pretty torturous fight to watch.

No because Hopkins isn't the most popular fighter. There were quite a few Americans who wanted Calzaghe to knock him out. They had to put their hands up after the fight and say Hopkins won though.

In the week after the fight, 80% of people picked Calzaghe in a poll to see who had won the fight.

For some reason over time that has shifted towards Hopkins.

But no, there was very little crying about it as most people scored it for Joe.

    Joe Calzaghe beat Bernard Hopkins..

Hopkins underestimated Joe Calzaghe in my opinion.

And Joe Calzaghe also underestimated Bernard Hopkins....

He was in far better shape, against Roy Jones.

Bernard Hopkins was just technically off, and was abit to "big" carrying too much mass.

Just was not functional, against Pavlik he was 5kgs lighter...
