I truly believe JT put his heart and soul and all else you could think of into that re-match...and the result was the best damned JT we'd seen MAYBE ever. And Pavlik UD'd him.

I really do believe now that was Taylor's last great stand. I hoped I was wrong, but after seein' him just jab x 2000 AA's gloves and not throw rights when they were there, JT is shot and I wish for him to drop out of the tourny right now.

 

I would love for Chad Dawson to come down to 168 and take JT's place

End of round 6 vs. the Cave Man. Just not enough time on the clock to capitalize.

+ JT had quite the KO % before takin' on Hopkins, Wright, Ouma, Spinks, Pavlik, etc.....Those cats don't get KO'd by nobody. (except when Super Zabdiel got Spinks in the re-match)

 

Being shot and being unable to do anything against AA defence is 2 different things. JT was in great shape, but still looked weak compared to AA. 8 pounds when you struggle to make weight can make a world of difference.

About 14 seconds left when AA fore armed him...OOOPPPSSS, I mean upper cutted him to the floor.

 

Plus, Ring Master, you're IMO an intelligent and good boxing fan. Now tell me, from where JT was in early 2007, to losing 4 or his last 5 fights, only to squeek by Shot Lacy, that JT is NOT SHOT.:yep

 

Every now and then it sucks to be right. When this tourney first came together I said JT needs a new trainer if he wants to do well. Ozell Nelson is terrible. In Pavlik 2 JT did great, but Nelson still had JT trying to go jab for jab with KP. Any trainer should know enough to tell their fighter to avoid a jabbing constest with Pav. Nelson told Taylor to try to take Froch out in the 11th, and he clearly did not have a decent plan for AA.

Ring Master is very good at playing "devil's advocate" just so you'll argue with him!

And he lost both fights. He tried it against AA but it didn't work and wasn't going to. Same reason he couldn't touch the body.
