Just seen a video on the BBC about him turning pro with Calzaghe. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/boxing/8315408.stm What do we know about him? He looks superb in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sOb3QQLB0gs
What weight is this lad ? ... He looks good, Great movement, Fast hands, Looks like the kid has power aswell.
How come him he has never boxed gavin, bradley saunders, jamie cox or michael grant in the amatures? they were the same weight and round at the same time
I know Chris very well...he started late in boxing so he had to catch up quite quickly, which he did. He was stable partners with michael grant before michael turned pro. And as for the others they turned pro just before chris had the opportunity to box them. Also his international tournaments stopped him from fighting domestically for the later part of his amateur career. I give much credit to chris, as he never once boxed anyone with less experience than him, always entered tournaments where he was always the least experienced and most of the time won them. can't wait to see him fight as a pro.. excellent boxing style.
Same, very mature and very level headed. I actually miss joe calzaghe. I know a lot of people slate and berate him but I miss the buzz from when he was boxing. No-one else british delivers that buzz right now...such a good fighter...yes he had his off nights but he could beat anyone when he was on song.
Calzaghe did well to get him, looks a talent. That's what he needs to do, get a stable of hot prospects, and a few are bound to come good. Seems like he's serious about this promoting lark.
18 when he had his first amateur fight I think. He's from London but boxed for cyprus internationally.
