Does Don King have options on David Haye?

Because if he does, this could affect the outcome of the fight. People often cry robbery about Germany, but in recent times, Niko Valuev recieved the most notorious robberies there, and it all started when Don King got involved with the big boy. Everything is very well documented. History lesson (skip if you want):

    - Don King first got involved with Valuev in the Larry Donald fight (WBA eliminatior), in which Donald was sacrificed so King could have options on Niko. Donald won 8 rounds to 4, but got robbed
    - the 2nd King fighter Niko faced was WBA champ John Ruiz. They say you gotta take the title from the champ, but the fight I saw, Valuev only won 4 rounds, and still walked away with the belt. Don King happily said he's gonna bring his new giant to the US
-What the Heck Beck in Germany then Barrett in the US (Don King event), then after McCline, the unwanted mando came
    - Chagaev was the mandatory so King/Sauerland couldn't avoid the fight, and Universum itself could have it's influence on the judges. Chagaev won 8 rounds to 4, and still only got a split decision, but at least won the title
    - Niko vs. Bergeron, Don King fighter Lyakhovich and then Ruiz came, once again getting the BS decision and a BS title
    - Holyfield signed a contract with DK and got his chance, won 10 rounds on my card (you can debate that but not the outcome) to get absolutely robbed
    - and the ultimate trick was to stage the mandatory Chagaev rematch in Finland, but NOT giving Ruslan's stable HepB samples to the local commission in time, therefore the fight was cancelled, Chagaev stripped and Vauev became the full champ, what a trick

So my big question is: does King have options on David Haye? King loves to only let you eat if you become his servant, and if Haye did give DK options for the future, he'll most likely get the decision if it goes the distance. I don't think King is planning anything with 36-year-old Valuev anymore and he ALWAYS finds a way to have at least one of the HW titles in his hands, only this time it should be fun when his and Sauerland's interest will conflict and we're going to the cards.

Some confirmation please: does the Don have options on David? :think

Cory Spinks got robbed against Verno Philips. If I remember right he was DKs fighter.

It's kind of funny that this hasn't been mentioned in any articles on the fight, either yay or nay (that I've seen). As soon as I heard about the fight I assumed "no Klit fight for Haye, King has him". But apparently it hasn't occurred to a single journalist to ask. Wonder why that is...

(Hopefully someone has more info than I do, but I think it'd be pretty big news.)

That was concerning the influence of DK. I thought that was the main idea of your post/thread.

Yeah, but where is Cory Spinks now? ... Exactly. That should tell something about DK's interest in CS. But his interest in the HWs ALWAYS comes first, and his position in the division is hanging by a thread.

    Hmm.

Donald slept for the first 3 rounds, and then miscounted how many he won, going into power save mode too early. I had it a draw. However, I do think that King had pulling something in the background.

Ruiz almost did nothing in 6 rounds of the fight (other than getting jabbed in the face HARD), so the best he could get was a draw again. Of course, he would have kept the title by that.

Beck and Barrett were given to Valuev to make him look good.

Chagaev literally RAN and ducked behind the ropes for 2:45 a round, eating dozens of grazing punches, to then rally for ten seconds landing punches on Valuevs CHEST and SHOULDER to create loud booming sounds and flying sweat, to make the judges who wouldn't have a direct sight to it think he connected big. That was a clever con job, and no way Chagaev "won" that fight. I would have scored it 8:4 Valuev for that hiding, running, and acting job. Valuev was too fair in that fight, and wasn't prepared well by his trainer to look good.

Bergeron was again a clumsy performance by Valuev, again more like a draw. Maybe Valuev should have lost that, I think I did not score there.

Holyfield got the rounds from me whenever he threw more than 3 punches a round. He still didn't win that one. You cannot dance away for 2:59 a round and then throw ONE punch that lands, and claim you won the round.

The Finland thing sure was a con job against Chagaev to get the title. Given the way he "won" the title, I am not too depressed about this. Bad thing is that Chagaev was willing to take Wlad on short notice, while Team Valuev was playing con games knowing they would get a fight with Haye. I think Valuev knows that he will get jobbed there if he doesn't knock Haye dead out of the ring, since at his age, he is no future option, and not well marketable.

And yes, King HAS options on Haye, he only claims he can fight WHERE he likes, not WHOM. Be ready to see Haye vs. Ruiz and a bunch of other King hasbeens, all while running his mouth to no end how ze Klitschkos are "running from him". You can bet the live savings on Haye retiring without fighting anyone whose last name starts with a "K".

I wasn't arguing against you, but adding to it. I hate Don King and what he has done to the sport and its participants. I think he knifed Cory.

Don't Goldenboy have rights on Haye?

I know they had a promotional deal like, but I think they're the main people behind his purse.

Haye went to france to beat Mormeck, Kings fighter and King had no options on him then, also as far as i am aware the deal was struck with Sauerland and not King :deal

I think it was a one-fight deal only, and I think all GBP' Richard Schaefer did was to help Haye-Wlad negotiations (and possibly land the fight on HBO), I'm pretty sure DH didn't sign to Golden Boy nor they have options on him or being involved at all in this fight. But King is well known for always trying to get options on you (or no fight) and the Haye-Niko deal was done so fast I suspect there are options given to him. But confirmation or a link to some rumor news would be nice.

its possible but i doubt valuev will get robbed. he loses this fight 9/10. i just think we might get the right result rather than a valuev gift.

i have no problem with Haye defending the wba belt 3 times then fighting the klitchkos. as long as he fights then quick so they aren't too old

3 fights options for King and Sauerland.

Good bye unification and Haye will be the slave from this two.

In your opinion who do you King and Sauerland will prefer in the fight?
