IMO He should have recognized as heavyweight champion a long time ago but the politics in boxing prevented the match ups. He has the best resume of all the heavyweights today.....has wins over former titlists Peter, Ibragimov, Ray Mercer, Chris Byrd(2x), Lamont Brewster and a host of top ten contenders. People will say he isnt tough enough, or he is mechanical but one thing he has been most of his career is dominant. He showed signs of greatness and a true champion by coming back and improving his style and form. Correcting errors to get to the next level. IMO he should be remembered as an all-time great....I dont see any era he would compete or be top 5 or a champion. I'd pick very few current all-time greats to defeat him outside Ali, Foreman, Holmes, and Joe Louis...everyone else is even money or he ko's or stops

I don't think that he is among the best H2H, but I think you have to cut him a bit of slack and say look, this era isn't great, but he's clearing it out and that's all he can do. He can only beat what's put in front of him. Aslong as for the next few years he fights the best around, however good they may actually be, and dominants then the answer is yes. But he'll be outside the top 10 for sure.

Chris Byrd, he demolished him twice.
Other than that: if you rule the HW division for a certain period of time, you should get granted ATG status. Jack Sharkey and Ingemar Johannson are in the HOF, why shouldn't Wlad be?

How about consistency and dominanca as another important aspect of greatness? Rahman beat Lewis, Douglas beat Tyson, Wlad will end his career without a win of that magnitude. I would argue that he is a better and more accomplished fighter than either Douglas or Rahman. An ATG can have a bad day and lose to a lesser fighter. But to win and dominate with Wlad's consistency requires something special.

He's hardly lost a round against the top of the division over the last 5 years.

Wlad still has a couple of years to cement his legacy. Or to blow it.

Nope! he is very good and should make it into the HOF but not an ATG. I will take that back he may make the top 20.

He will sercure his legacy against Povetkin and Chambers with 2 x 120-108 wins, ruining both fighters in the process

The problem is if he ruins them as fighters, is anyone going to know they've been ruined?

He needs another big fighter (physically and figuratively) to go up against to make his name. The fact that a lot of casual fans (that I know anyway) have only seen his fight with Ibragimov won't help his case.

I'd give him a nod for Top25-30. Like previously said, his continued domination of the current heavies is nothing short of impressive. So far I'd say his real "champion fight"(personal vocab, describing a fight in which a fighter showed great determination and heart) would be when he got off the mat 3 times to out point Peter.
