Lewis did alright, but he had the big names that everybody already know that he could beat and become a household name, Holy, Tyson ect.

Wladimir is clearly on a roll. But, no, I don't think many people consider him an all time great...not at this point. To be considered an ATG I think he'd have to do something pretty extraordinary, like winning his next 5 or 6 fights. If that were the case, the man would have 12-13 consecutive defenses of his title. Now, I don't care how weak the era is, if you defend your title that many times, you have to at least be considered for ATG status.

His dominant wins of Chris Byrd were probably his best wins. Byrd was certainly no great fighter, but only the top heavies ever beat up on Byrd the way that Wlad did.

I think we'll look back on him and see him as better than we do now because of the length of reign. On the other hand it will always be a valid argument that he's had a long reign because his competition is so weak-weaker than any other long reigning champ that I can think of. There's not a single name on his record that I'd pick to beat any of the other consensus "great" champions.

Not true at all. In fact I'd say that his most ardent supporters only ever argue on behalf of white boxers

He's not in my alltime top ten list, yet.

Depends on what he does over the next two or three years.

Yes he will hes' got a few dodgy defeats but he has dominated the division and beat a whole load of top ten ranked fighters.

I don't know if they do or not, what I said was it isn't true that only black americans or that it's mostly black americans who criticise them. Plenty of people from around the globe and across the ethnicity board have criticism for the Klits, mainly due to the ludicrous cult worship that comes from their perplexing hardcore non-boxing-fan-base. Myself for instance, I quite like both the bros but I find I'm always posting in the negative because there are so many lunies who can't just like them without ridiculously overrating them to the point of comedy or mental illness or both. The canned response is that if you don't think the bros should be favoures over every fighter in history then you're racist, which is silly and as I pointed out the usual suspects on this site seem to only ever post favourably regarding white fighters.

    i agree with this

    ..and also with this!

its a catch 22 situation, if he were a bit shitter he might win his fights by closer margins and look better for beating 'better' opponents, but since thats not the case it just appears he is beating bums. if you had never watched a boxing match before and you watched foreman-frazier, you would think joe frazier was a can!
