I introduced my Wife to boxing 2 years ago and now she is hooked. She even trains on the pads with me! I think it's good to encourage more women into boxing though. the only time I feel worried is when I'm watching the ring girls and she firmly watches me and then I have to pretend to watch something else!! In fairness though she got her revenge at the Cordoba fight when Peters brought on those ring guys!

I never said the atmosphere was good!

the show was great abraham coming out of the roof fireworks going off and scorpions playing live it was class! it doesnt change the fact germans arent boxing fans but they do like an event!

Let me just say this the atmosphere wasnt good

    but the entrance was unreal!

they had the scorpions playing thier heavymetal fireworks going off, there were massive flames and t hen abraham came out of the ceiling!

It was the best entrance ive were seen in person.

that being said the atmosphere left alot to be desired!

It was way better than this but this will give you an idea of what i mean as regards the fire

    Lads,

SOS from me here. The tickets for Saturday night are not shifting as well as expected. I'm supposed to remain objective as a journalist, but I have seen first hand how flat out Don O and Phil S are working to make this a success.

I'm asking all of you lads to put the word out over the next few days. Try and persuade a few lads to part with €20 to come along. Even if all us lads on ESB managed to shift 200 tickets between all of us, it would be some achievement.

    For tickets:

    +353 1 453 3371 - National Stadium

Or contact Phil Sutcliffe on 087 9719193 or Dave O'Brien on 087 9121785.

Else you can walk up on the night.

I'll try and push it as hard as I can for the last few days - I mean it when I say there are not many fellas as honourable as DonO and PhilC in the game.

€20 is a fair price but I think the problem is tryig to get it going on the bank holiday weekend! I only just found out this weekend coming is bank holiday weekend not the 31st when it's usually on the calendar! But I'll spread the word to those I know anyway.

would someone not be able to sell 100 or so tickets around local pubs across Dublin and the night before and night of the fight.

    Is the bar open?

My little bro called me about tickets which is strange

hes going to head along with a few of his mates this weekend

I can only speak for myself but some of the dolphil shows have had some of the most exciting fights ive been too

Eddie Hylands fight was fantastic down in Castlebar (worth the price of admission imo...)

then we had Fitzgerald Long in Citywest

Now they are bringing us Fitzgerald-Long II
They are making serious efforts to keep ticket prices as low as possible you also get the chance t o see the future contender on the world scene in Alexei Acosta who will be going to fight in america from early next year

there will also be some amateur fights on the bill

I know alot of people here complain about the quality of the cards but everyone cant be a Brian Peters I believe there is a niche for these sort of promotions people just need to give them a chance for 20 euro you cant go far wrong!

I hope to see a few of you there on saturday

Ive my tickets already....Bring it on ....I cant wait for Saturday

Where else can you see 7 Professional fights and 2 amatuer fights for €20

I hope Dolphil And Paddy Hyland can run shows like this at least 4 or 5 times a year......They are always great value and Most of the time good match making too.....

Totaly agree Paddy ok the boxers may not be of the quality of a Dunne Mc Closkey or Lee but when you get two fighters of any quality matched well against each other you will have a good scrap and that is what a night like this is about. Not from Dublin myself but it would be a fine night out if you were going with out with your mates anyway for a pint an extra 20 quid is nothing and you'd probably be finished before last calls in town.

Who are the amateurs will we see Phil Junior???:heythat would be cool.
