3 days left. Polish Fight of Century is coming with big steps. It's going to be a debut of Adamek in heavyweight division, but already he's been ranked in 8th position of HWs by boxrec. Andrew Golota, the man who used to make polish community get up at night for years to see him fighting, now he's gonna face former world champion of two lower divisions. The battle of speed and tactic against strenght and experience, smaller and faster Adamek or bigger and stronger Golota ?

Half of Poland is going to watch this fight and whole evening with current, best polish boxers, I can't wait and I'm rooting for Adamek, because he has more to lose than Golota, who doesn't lose anything after that. People will love him and be grateful of this what he's done in his entire career even if he loses. For Adamek the loss may mean that he has nothing to offer in HW division and should be back at CW, also may be forgotten by big TV stations, but I personally believe he will get some great fight in HW and performs 'a piece of good boxing'.

ps. The winner will be in TOP15 of IBF ranking and will get contender status to face Wlad Klitchko ! There's something else than money that is worth to fight for !

    Your thoughts? Types?

Fine...Polish fight of the century. Let's keep it that why. Neither of these men will have done anything to deserve a world title shot, even if they score the most impressive knock out of all time.

    PS

I believe Golota has actually been medically deceased for about 2 years now. His fight against Austin was one of the most pathetic in Polish history. That was against a guy that got knocked out by Wlad quickier than the Polish army in WW2.

It's funny that Adamek still doesn't look like a heavyweight I don't think he has enough size and height to compete with the top heavyweights, much less Golota.

You're rooting for Adamek because he's your boy not because he has more to lose. Golota is the one who has more to lose clearly because if he loses he will probably retire and lose any hopes of gaining a title. If Adamek loses so what?? He's still going to fight and win titles.

    May the best man win.

I think Adamek is going to take this one. It will be interesting for a while. I have said this before but Adamek's power will carry up. Look at Dempsey knocking out Willard. Louis KO over Carnera. Chagaev beat Valuev. Paquiao starts at the 100's and starches a 140lber. Power and weight are not the same thing. Darchinyan hurts middleweights in sparring. Adamek can do it. He hits hard and has very fast hands. And he is a great counter puncher with a great chin. When Cunnigham opened up and looked good he was floored. Adamek's fast right will come inside Golota's slower punches.

You are an idiot, and probably a young idiot. The fight against Austin has nothing to do with "Polish" history. It was just another heavyweight fight, held in China, where Golota suffered a borderline career ending injury.

I gotta go for the old fella i always go for the old heavys. I think adamek is a great boxer but id like Golota give it one last shot. But he needs to get the result tommorow to give himself one last chance at the big time. Just out of interest if he beats Adamek where will Andrew stand on boxrec?

Adamek is my boy, but so does Golota. But look, Adamek is on fire and such loss can close some door to bigger career, spectacular win can open his door much wider and make a long queue in HW to fight him, if not maybe Bernard in CW... <dreaming> ;) Golota has nothing to lose, if he loses it's okay in boxing world, he may lose. The pressure's been put on Adamek, he will handle it as much as he can, but if he loses, he can be done for some, he doesn't have same meaningful name like Golota who has made it by himself in 90's. Adamek may disappear imo in the USA, TV stations will not take him seriously as a HW boxer that equals shut door for him and big fights.

May the best man win. I don't like the idea of making this fight, but if it's ment to happen, I prefer Adamek.

If Adamek can't beat Golota then there is no door, which means he goes back to winning fights and titles at cruiser.

At least this time I won't need to get up at night to see the fight ;)
I think Adamek KO's him later or sooner. I was wandering how shot is Golota, and after watching his training I think he is really done. Sure, it is HW and one shot can finish the fight... but I still see Adamek as heavy favourite.

But there's a danger he may not stand up from kneeling, even at CW, this is what I'm worried about.
