I haven't been following sites and forums since the fight, what was the reaction to the decision and the referee? Were there more people on Dirrell's or Froch's side? How many thought the ref was a ****?

I just watched the fight and was discusted.

Froch hiting on the brake (blatantly!), wrestling and hitting behind the head as consistently as he was punching and not getting a single warning. Something like 1/4 of his punches were landed when Dirrell, out of pure shock, stopped fighting and looked at the referee. Dirrell gets warned for trivialities which were, by the way, only a response to Froch's BS. What kills me is that in the post fight interview Froch as the audacity to say the ref was on his case!

I watch boxing very dispassionately, and I almost never root for anyone, but, by the mid rounds, I found myself praying to god Froch gets KOd, and I'm not even religious!

I didn't score the fight, but I think it's crystal clear Dirrell is the better fighter and beats Froch boxing, fighting, brawling or standing on his head.

    I was sickened!

I was pissed. I like Froch, but he did not deserve to win. The referee was horrible he should be banned from boxing, and forced to referee the UFC.

They were both breaking the rules both should have had a point docked.
AS often happens the ref reacts the crowds it was a close fight one Dirrell lost by not working more. If he had he could have made it a clear decision or maybe even a KO win he didnt and Froch got a narrorw narrow win.

Even if i was on the Dirrell side in the begining and i think he is a much better boxer then Froch, I think Dirrell was too green for this fight. He adapt very well in the end and got some confidence back and looked good, but in the begining he didnt know what to do, how to react to what was happening. You can argue for the point remove for clinching, but you can argue that one of the "fall on the knees" was on purpose and he should got a count from the ref (and have a point remove).

I can understand both sides, but I think that Dirrell was too green for this fight, he started too slow. He knew if it was thight their will be a home decision, so he should have start faster.

But now I think Dirrell will be a better boxer from this experience and he can move foward in his carreer. I think the looser of this fight (even if he won) is Carl Froch. I had some doubt about him. After the Taylor fight will he improve, adapt and be a better boxer and I think we already saw what Froch can do best. So now he can go only down. Im not saying his carreer is done, but he is at his peak now, he will not improve his defense and his other flaws. Boxers will prepare for him and will beat him. He is not bad, but he is a little overrated right now.

I wish Dirrell the best for the super six and the rest of his carreer, I think he will just improve and learn.

    Thanks for reading.

The decision wasn't really that bad to be honest.

You've got one fighter who fought in spoil tactics, ensuring the other fighter would never look good in the fight. You've got the other fight constantly attempting to pressure, higher work rate, moving his opponent around the ring, ocassionally landing the jab amongst other shots.

It's a tough fight to score. I dare any of you to categorically give six rounds to either fighter without any doubt or "Too close to call". I can come up with three, maybe four for Dirrell and two for Froch.

Close decisions are not robberies, in this case, the more defensive/cautious fighter made it easier for the score to go against him.

After the fight (which I scored 6-6) I felt that Dirrell was the more skilled and better fighter.

However, fights are actually not always won by the better fighter.... he has to do the work. And Dirrell could hardly have had a worse game plan in there.
