Floyd Mayweather Jr must know by now that his credibility as a professional prizefighter is only just balancing on a thread. By taking a fight with Ricky Hatton, who is essentially semi-retired and damaged goods, would be detrimental to his dreams of ever getting the credibility he thinks he deserves. Hatton isn't even a legitimate Welterweight, it's time he started showing some respect to his dedicated fanbase by giving them the fights they want. Shane Mosley, Manny Pacquiao, and Miguel Cotto should be on the agenda - not Ricky Hatton, a fighter he's already beat.

Ricky Hatton isn't on the agenda, which is why this thread is pointless. Ricky's appeal in the States has dropped considerably. His last fight with Pac did only 325k buys in the U.K, he's losing a lot of steam there as well. There's no interest and no money in this fight. Ricky running off at the mouth doesn't change this. Ricky is washed up and will probably never fight again.

I'm sorry to disappoint you but PBF doesn't give a rats ass on what you think or any boxing fans thinks. He will never fight anybody dangerous for glory, he wants to be called MONEY Mayweather for a reason or he chooses this moniker to have an excuse to dodge feared fighter for money. PBF has been doing this for years, money over glory.

I don't think you want to address the possibility of Floyd letting you down by doing something stupid again. Fighting Marquez was bad enough, and then coming in over weight really did wind up the Boxing public, and rightly so. That aside, this thread isn't pointless. I would like to know how Mayweather's fan base would react in the event that a rematch happened. That's why the only words I want to hear out of your mouth are, "If Floyd fights Hatton again I will be disappointed in him". Any other viewpoint is nonsensical.

How would you feel about Floyd Mayweather Jr. in the event that a big money fight with Hatton arose, and instead of fighting Mosley or Cotto, he took the money and ran?

Your logic is totally ****ed up. You're basically saying because Floyd took on a fight that was dissapointing in your personal opinion( a lot of people were excited about the fight), that he'll take on any old fight no matter how little sense it makes. Mayweather hadn't faught in two years and was fighting a guy near the top of the p4p lists(yeah, he was small, but he was still pretty talented). That was a fight that you could sell to the public. You can't sell Mayweather/Hatton II to the public. Everyone saw Hatton get knocked out by Mayweather, and everyone has seen Hatton get trashed after that fight. There is not a lot of interest in seeing Hatton fight again. Mayweather is not going to fight someone that he's going to get criticized for fighting and for which he won't make all that much money. This thread is nonsensical. You might as well ask if Floyd fans would be dissapointed if he fought Jason Litzau. There answer is obvious, and there is no chance of either fight happening.

You don't need to get angry, BigReg. We all know how attracted Mayweather is to a big payday and even now, Ricky Hatton could sell more tickets than most fighters around the 140-147lbs divisions. I'm not suggesting Floyd would rematch Hatton, I'm simply asking how you would feel as a Floyd fan if he did indeed dismiss the Shane Mosleys of the world to take a big pay day? That's all. Why can't you just address the question and stop getting your panties in a twist. We can be friends after.

I'm not angry, I'm pointing out how ridiculous this thread is. It's based off a completely faulty basis. Mayweather/Hatton II is not a money maker, period. Again, nobody wants to see this fight. It would not make all that much money. Now had Ricky beat Pac, it would be a viable fight. However, Ricky was knocked senseless in his last fight. If you really think a rematch between the two would do big numbers, then you really don't understand the sport.

That's lovely but irrelevant to the thread.

How would you feel if Floyd Mayweather Jr rematched Ricky Hatton next year?
