Of his commentating. :) I think Tarver is an overrated fighter but he's an excellent commentator. Jones is still my number 1 pick as the best commentating ever but Tarver is number 2. But since Roy is no longer commentating, Tarver is easily right now the best commentator. I wish Lewis take notes.

I wouldn't even call him an overrated fighter - nobody claimed that he was an ATG just because he beat a faded Roy. He was rated appropriately enough as a guy who made good on a late start and only limited talent; my main problem with Antonio the fighter is he was just...well...unappealing to watch.

I'm overjoyed that he's begun this career transition. :good

Jones Jr's prime commentating is over, Tarver won't rule for that long when Hopkins commentates, I even think Dawson could give him a run for his money.

Dawson won't make a very good commentator, IMO.

You be surprise but there alot of people maybe not here that thinks Tarver is a great fighter that deserve credit for koing a faded Roy Jones. But beside him as an overrated fighter, he is right now the best color commentator. I made fun at Tarver for stuttering i think in the Green vs Simms fight but i think honestly Tarver was nervous in which thats normal. But Tarver did way better in the Dirrell vs Froch fight. Tarver commentating is a fresh air in which you won't hear annoying stuff like hearing Kellerman talk about the 1920's too many times or Lewis most of the times can't finish a proper sentence.

I can't picture Hopkins as a great commentator. Hopkins studders too much when he talks. Remember his arguement with Jones back in 2002? Jones was killing him in those argurment.

I mean sure, he doesn't sound like a total blithering schmuck in interviews but a) he's really self-involved, I don't think he's going to want much more to do with the sport when he's done inside the ring but take his money and disappear...his motivation seems to be supporting his family more than love of the game, and that leads me to b) he doesn't seem to have too much respect for or knowledge of boxing. His attitude as described by former trainers and the fact that he's been caught underestimating opponents/not taking fights seriously and going through hell paying for it tells me that much.

Although he may not have had the most stellar of professional careers (still very good!), he was a stand-out amateur boxer. I posted an article from 1996 on him in the Brit forum - will dig it up and post a link here :good

    Edit: Here it is:

Dawson has next to no personality. Jones was good, but got unfocused as time went on. Hopkins might be great, but I think Tarver's the best of the bunch right now.

    Flores is good too.

Exactly. At least, not that he shows to the camera. I don't think he really craves the public life.

Tarver is articulate and quick with words, though I've noticed he's been a bit tamed while commentating. I suspect its because he's getting still used to it. He will only get better on the air with time I believe
