There's a reason the commentators are saying, "too too soon", and there's also a reason there's a brawl going down in the ring. That was stopped was too early, and ironically, the round before this one Tyson was in trouble at the end of the round. Far to early of a stoppage, irrespective of who was winning the fight.

    Richard Steele in the Chavez-Taylor
Richard Steele in the Tyson vs Razor
Genaro Rodriguez in the Kendall Holt vs Ricardo Torres

Jay Nady in any fight he refs, that dude is just down right terrible
He is most recently notable for not calling a knockdown in the Barrera-Marquez fight.

fell, and this would have impacted the scoring. So essentially

lost one point for the missed call, and another when he hit Marquez when he was down.

No need for the vid I've seen it many times. I would call it a mercy stoppage, it wasn't competitive and Ruddock was just going to get battered more and more. I don't think it was premature at all.

Tyson Ruddock was a little premature. But when Tyson unleashes on him, Ruddock drops his hands, watch. He seems defenseless. But it was a bit too quick. Maybe...

Tyson was well on his way to perhaps scoring a knockout, but that's not the point. Ruddock has been down and badly hurt before, and come back. Look at how he would later get up from a devastating left hook against Morrison? Ruddock was notorious for his recovery powers, and Steele stopped the fight before we even got a chance to see what was going to happen. It's an early stoppage, there's no two ways about it. Doesn't matter who was up on the cards or anything, it was early.

Ruddock was hurt, but he should've at least been given the opportunity to get himself out of trouble.

    The stoppage was too soon.

Byrd got himself in trouble by leaving his hands at his waist, but he should have been given an opportunity to see out the round. At least Byrd was given two chances to recover, Ruddock wasn't even aware of what was going on before the referee came in and called a halt to the fight.
