I went to the fight and a had an excellent seat/view. I had Froch winning by 2 (though I forget if I inlcluded the point deduction or not). I'm the first to admit I can be bias towards the aggressor in a fight but I do try to be subjective.

The pont I'm trying to make is really about some of the ridiculous posts I've read along the line of 'Dirrell kicked Froch's ass'. I mean lets be serious for a minute. If you 'scored' this fight more than 3 rounds to Froch or more than 1 or 2 to Dirrell you need to be getting down to specsavers. It was a close fight!!!

As an afterthought I'd just like to say the hour and a half wait between the last fight and the main event was poor. This could have been tolerable if the undercard was much, much better.

Also on the way to the fight got in the lift at the hotel with Steve Bunce (trust me he will probably only take stairs from now on! lol). What a nice bloke, walked the whole way down into town with him. Infact as we were grabbing a quick ruby he asked me to point him in the direction of the arena and I'm fairly sure I sent him the wrong way. SORRY BUNCEY!

Then on the way back from the fight I got in the lift with Tyson Fury and his lovelly lady. Again total credit to himself and a really polite guy.

    All in all............ Good Weekend!

Yes it clearly was not a robbery. Lewis-Holyfield, Whitaker-Chavez and De La Hoya-Sturm are clear robberies. More people may think that Dirrell won than did those supporting Froch, but it still was a close fight. Personally I hope the Kessler-Ward fight is better than the first 2, I aren't complaining that the best are fighting the best but they could have been better fights.

I would agree that most people seem to feel Dirrell edged it however, virtually everyone that has expressed this view to me has also said......

You cannot go to someones hometown, run round the ring, duck down low, moan and whine and expect to get the title.

You have to take a title not steal it.

I'm personally relieved at the result as I envisaged ottke part 2.

I think Kessler will beat Ward and I also think it will be a better 'fight'.

Kessler vs Froch will be an amazing fight. Actually fight doesn't fit, its gonna be a WAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Every person I've spoken to that attended the fight seems to think Froch won it.. I wonder why.

Actually a lot of people that attended the fight had it for dirrell.

Geography seemed to matter. Everybody that sat the side of the ring that I did seemed to have it for froch. People who felt Dirrell won more often than not were the side nearest where the fighters entered + the commentry boothe.

The side you view it from always makes a difference. On several occasions the crowd gasped when dirrell 'caught' froch when from our side we could see it missed. There were also cheers for froch when I could see he missed.

It also depends who you are sitting with and listening to. I sat with some very pro froch people and had to check them on several occasions by telling them it was a dirrell round. i.e. the third.

I did speak to a guy at the hotel in the morning who sat the commentry box side, he gave dirrell 4 out of the first 5 rounds which even after seeing the fight playback 20 times I cannot see.

It strikes me that though pro dirrell people say that froch didn't land most of his punches they don't see that froch took most (and I do mean most because frochy did get caught a couple of times in the last 3) punches on his arms and gloves. Generally I thought froch went to the body better and he didn't get enough credit for his jab which was effective for most of the night.

I have heard a few people (including AD) say they are clueless as to why dirrell had the point deducted. If you listen carefully at around round 8 you clearly hear the ref say 'come on andre, this is getting ridiculous' as he sepperateds them for the 187th time. So he has fair warning.

As for froches punches to the back of the head. I'm sorry if to avoid punches you duck into the opponent then you deserve to get hit on the back of the head. Anytime he got hit like a rabbit when he didn't duck the ref warned froch (not enough to get him docked though).
