Because of the pletoria of excuses he gets for his losses, and even worse, the "he would've... (...) if he ....". None of his losses seem to "count", because he was either green, old, not motivated, stomach cwamps, didn't train or because he couldn't be bothered. The James Toney syndrome. It's not a generation thing, because i am a fan of Hearns, Monzon and Leonard, who are more or less from the same period.

Here's the punch referenced earlier in the thread. Hearns straight right hand floors Duran at the :30 second mark.

All I said was "Didn't look so good when he meet Tommy Hearns." and it didn't. I don't understand how that comes across as an "oh so smug conceited smarmy" post.

    Please enlighten me!

I mean come on man, we both like boxing, we both like Duran. Why do you feel the need to call names, insult, attack, and proposition me? It is a little childish in my opinion.

You cant knock Duran for the Hearns KO.

No one else ever did that to him, even when he was over 40 and shot.

Duran never got started in that fight, Hearns is a great finisher and goes all out, once he had Duran hurt he never let him get away. Duran looked slow and lethargic, which allowed Hearns to land on him brutally. That final right hand was just perfect, that would have knocked down anyone.

He actually took a lot of good rights and some lefts before finally being KO'd. Sure the speed bothered him, but hey Leonard is faster than Hearns, it was mostly the reach, he couldn't get out of range.

The thread is all about Duran talking that bomb from Barkley & not Hearns/Duran, your post was a super negative & de-constructive statement that make's posters veer off the subject at hand into a blind alley & stop being so super sensitive, where's yer sense of humour:smoke

The title of the thread is, and I quote, "Roberto Duran's Chin", not "Duran talking that bomb from Barkley" (I assume you meant taking and not talking). My post was a fact, it was neither negative nor positive. You seem to have misconstrued it as negative, and as a result you made personal attacks at my expense that have been, to use your words, "super negative & de-constructive". Also your posts were the first to veer off of the subject when you started posting about how Hearns looked when he fought Barcley (Barkley). I am not being super sensitive, I am just not going to take your ****. As far as my sense of humour, I guess your just not funny.
