Tyson should have been in the video, no question. Just like to clarify, I didn't make the video. I wish I had. Pernell Whitaker, when he let his hands go, had extraordinarily fast hands too. He could have perhaps been included.
Anybody can shoe shine, not everybody threw shots as quick as Camacho did though - and for my money, nobody ever did. I'm not even a fan, but footage doesn't lie. Camacho was fast as hell on the slow motion replays.
SRL varies speed/power just like everyone else. i can show u a segment where he is teeing off combos and didn't do much damage. I thought what i posted made sense but i guess not.
nice video. its interesting to see how different each fighter was in terms of style, despite them being so fast in their own right. each did things a bit differently. sugary ray combined some arm punch flurries with big leverage explosive ones while working from the outside and using leverage to his advantage. Taylor worked more from the inside and probably had the fastest hands in the bunch, camacho used his legs a lot and probably had the best foot work of the bunch, smooth as a cougar. roy was dynamite with some unpredictable haymakers from weird angles, punches starting from his hips, the guy was really explosive.
I feel like i'm posting too much on this thread but is something that I have always tried to explain to people in the past about hand speed. Hand speed is decieving bc most people have the ability to throw blinding punches but not everyone can be effective. like that anglosaxon dude... his form wasn't there and spins off balance trying to go fast.
You've got to be kidding me? I was gobsmacked when I first saw the Camacho segment, he's so fast you can't actually appreciate it because before you know it, the clip has gone and past you by. 3.27 - Hector Camacho throws a one two with full leverage and then another one. It's even fast on the replay, you may have to rewind it at first because you can miss it. The guy goes down, it wasn't shoe shining. 3.38 - Camacho throws about 17 shots (I can't keep up) all with bad intentions. One of the most outrageously fast flurries I've ever seen. What makes it doubly impressive is the shot selection. He transitions from a left hand into a right uppercut, and he's still blindingly fast. 4.08 - A four punch combination, blindingly fast, all hitting Chavez in the face.
If you're comparing Camacho to AngloSaxon that would constitute as the most epic fail of all time. Camacho WAS effective with his punching, sometimes Roy would throw pitter patter left hooks but I've not held that against him. A shot landed is an effective shot, irrespective of whether it knocks the guy down, out, or just gets his attention. Camacho was not a big puncher, Jones and Leonard both hit harder, but Camacho's ridiculously fast hands scored him points, and sometimes, knockouts. He rates as the best for me, for all of the reasons I just stated. He didn't shoe shine any more than Roy would with the hooks.
Ali for his size can make an arguement for being the fastest of all time p4p wise but he doesn't put a lot of power on most of his fast shots. He may end with a hard punch but everything in between is light. All in all I say jones of the bunch deserve the nod for the fastest hands. He is almost as fast as taylor but he got ko power on most of his combos but I have NEVER seen anyone who can throw bombs like SRR over and over and over again in fast speed.
I have a feeling that u r going to keep misinterperate my posts. ru putting words in my mouth now? I rephrase my take on hand speed about 5 times now.... what do u not understand from my post anyways that u have to keep twisting it?
Nonsense, it is a genetic gift, that is why I am such adevastating unbeaten fighter, and you're an armchair fan.:verysad
We'll agree to disagree, but Camacho was the fastest in that video in my estimation. It's close, I feel.
